Gloves got a new, fresh hairstyle. However, his outfit is a very old fashioned set of samurai armour. He still wins turf wars, but isn't seen as trendy by the other teams. His team joke about him training in the mountains, but Gloves actually takes it seriously. He sees someone practicing with a weapon he has never seen before, and is surprised that the user is Emperor. Emperor explains that the weapons are Splat Dualies prototypes and lets Gloves keep them. Someone, who is likely Squidkid Jr, asks if Emperor is sure about giving the prototypes away. With the Splat Dualies, Gloves and his team get a place in the finals. Team Emperor beats Team Gloves, and Emperor remembers Gloves from when they were in the mountains. Gloves has still kept his old gear as a display in his room.
