Overview

The player must navigate several platforms with 8-balls to reach the goal within 3 minutes.

Checkpoint 1

The first area has 8-ball bumpers and four Sanitized Octotroopers, either avoid or destroy them to send the 8-ball through the 8-ball launcher towards the next area.

Checkpoint 2

The second area has five 8-ball bumpers and another 8-ball. Take both 8-balls through the next 8-ball launcher.

Checkpoint 3

The third area has sliding platforms that can push the 8-balls forward. Further through, there is a third 8-ball to take to the final 8-ball launcher.

Final checkpoint

The final area is a platform with Bounce Pad walls and Octotroopers. Use the 8-balls to break the stack of 8-ball bumpers to reveal a launchpad on a wall that leads to the goal.

OE Icon CQ Cumber.png C.Q. Cumber's Quotes

You must reach the goal before time runs out.
When you reach the final area, you'll need to destroy the bumpers as fast as you can.
So it will be easier if you take a lot of 8-balls with you.
But remember—if you lose a single ball, it's game over.
You let an 8-ball fall—test failed.
You ran out of time—test failed.

No time for chitter-chatter, the countdown has started!
Launchpad ahoy!
Gorgeous!

OE Icon Marina.png Marina's Quotes

You can smash up the bumpers with the 8-ball afterwards!
Roger that! Ignore the enemies and focus on advancing that 8-ball!
There's a launchpad!
This should come in handy for taking out all those bumpers.
Looks like there's a launchpad hiding behind those bumpers!

OE Icon Pearl.png Pearl's Quotes

Dang—did you see that big stack of bumpers?
There's another ball—go grab it!
Check it—another ball, dead ahead!
Bust those bumpers to find the launchpad!
Looks like you can reach the launchpad now!

Trivia

  • The title's "totally" is a slang word for "definitely" or "for sure" and the subtitle is one of the possible results on a Magic 8-Ball.
  • The Japanese title of this station is a pun on "Chakushin, san waon" (ringtone, three chords).
  • This stage has bent spoons floating around in the background. This is a reference to spoon bending as well as a possible reference to the 1999 film The Matrix.
    • The spoons' tips are octopus or squid-shaped.
    • A07 Maverick Station has bent spoons floating in the background as well.
    • The Dutch subtitle of this station, "Met de paplepel inkt gegoten", alludes to the spoons.
  • Totally 8-Ball Station is the only mission in the Octo Expansion to use the .52 Gal.

Translation notes

  1. A pun on "Chakushin, san waon" (ringtone, three chords).
  2. Comes from "Met de paplepel ingegoten", a Dutch expression for "to have learned something at a very young age", and "inkt" (ink).
  3. "pas de dégonflés" could also be a reference to the French name for the 8-ball bumpers ("obsacles gonflables").
  4. Comes from "Flipper" (pinball) and "holt" (get/fetch), but the latter most likely refers to the suffix found in certain German city or district names, since that has been the theming for many station titles.
