The Eye of Justice is headgear in Splatoon 2.

It is a 3-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Special Charge Up. It was released via the Splatoon 2 Switch News channel as a promotion for the Chaos vs. Order Splatfest. It can also be purchased from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for Cash 16,666.

Appearance

The Eye of Justice is a shiny, silver, metal helmet that covers the wearer's head, and has a conical protrusion on each side to fit the wearer's ears. On the front of the helmet is a screen that changes color to match the wearer's ink color, and is in the shape of the outline of Marina's team Splatfest logo. There are images that scroll across the screen from top to bottom. First, it displays Marina's Splatfest logo, then it scrolls down, leaving the screen blank. Then from the top, the Inkling text from the team Order logo scrolls down, and it again displays Marina's Splatfest logo.

The Eye of Justice was added into the files of Version 4.9.0, released on 26 June 2019 at 01:00 UTC. It was made public when a Nintendo Switch News article about Chaos vs. Order promotional gear was released later that day.

Abilities

The Eye of Justice comes with Special Charge Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to headgear. As a 3-star item, the Eye of Justice comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 3

While the Eye of Justice does not reappear in Splatoon 3, a modified version makes a cameo appearance in Marina's Dev Diary as the headset used to let Agent 8 access the Memverse. The "ears" have been removed, replaced with wires that trail out from the sides and connect to an unknown source. It displays a modified version of the Memverse's infinity symbol across the face area instead of any of the images it could display in Splatoon 2.

Trivia

  • Based on its SplatNet 2 price, it can be deduced that the normal price of the Eye of Justice would be Cash 11,111 if it were purchasable from Headspace rather than obtained from the Nintendo Switch news channel.
