Walkthrough

Overview

This station is the second station where players must defeat enemies while standing on destructible platforms. The map is shaped like Blooper from the Super Mario series. Most of the platforms are reinforced crates with others being less sturdy. The first wave consists of two standard Octotroopers and four Twintacle Octotroopers on the squid's head. The second wave has an Octosniper and an Octocommander appear at the end of the squid's tentacles. Finally, two Speedy Missile Octocopters spawn at the center and back at the head.

OE Icon CQ Cumber.png C.Q. Cumber's Quotes

You must fight your way through without falling off any of the crumbling platforms.
Shooting about carelessly is not advised. Taking fire can also be very dangerous.
Watch your step and try to remember the locations of the sturdy crates.
You ran out of time - test failed.

A floating squid, eh? OK, then.
Ahoy! Where are you now?
Aim at their feet and knock 'em down!
Use your brush to ink a path on the ground, and then close the distance quick!
— When the player has the Inkbrush equipped.

OE Icon Marina.png Marina's Quotes

Looks like the fighting is gonna go down over there.
These platforms will break apart, so watch your step!
The crates wrapped in plastic won't break as easily!
Try approaching with your Brella opened up nice and wide.
— When the player has the Tenta Brella equipped.
When you get rid of a bad guy, try to prevent their item from falling!
— When the player has the Luna Blaster equipped.
Those missiles shouldn't give you too much trouble from here!
Try leading the missiles toward whatever you wanna blow up, and then dodge them!

OE Icon Pearl.png Pearl's Quotes

That guy looks like trouble!
If you're gonna launch your Brella, make sure you're standing on a sturdy crate!
— When the player has the Tenta Brella equipped.
Take 'em out from downtown with your Curling Bombs!
— When the player has the Inkbrush equipped.
Pull the rug out from under 'em with an explosion, and watch 'em drop!
— When the player has the Luna Blaster equipped.
What the heck?!

Trivia

  • The title is a reference to the 1984 film Footloose. This matches the name of B14 Breakdance Station, which is a similar mission, also named after a 1984 movie about dancing.
  • The subtitle might be a reference to the lyrics "Watch your step, you might fall / Tryin' to do what I did" from the 1997 song Gettin' Jiggy wit It, which is also referred to in the subtitle for E03 Don't Ralph Station.
  • This station has Jacob's ladders and Nintendo's Famicom cartridges floating around in the background.
    • The Jacob's ladders have squids and octopuses on them. Super Mario Bros. seems to be the game depicted on the cartridges, but with Splatoon characters instead of Mario characters.
    • The Dutch subtitle of this station, "Sprenkel een gat in de lucht", seems to be alluding to the Super Jumping squid on the cartridges.

Translation notes

  1. Comes from "een gat in the lucht springen", a Dutch expression meaning "to be very enthusiastic", and "sprenkelen" (to sprinkle).
  2. The title also makes a reference to a form of dance: hakken.
