Fresh Season 2023 was the third season in Splatoon 3. The season began on 1 March 2023, a day after the release of version 3.0.0. It ended after three months, on 1 June 2023.

Fresh Season 2023 was announced on 16 February 2023 via the @SplatoonJP Twitter account.

Um'ami Ruins		 Um'ami Ruins is set on an archeological excavation. The stage was first teased on 10 August 2022 during the Splatoon 3 Direct before being fully unveiled during the Fresh Season 2023 announcement. 1 March 2023

Manta Maria		 Manta Maria, initially from Splatoon 2, returns with a tweaked layout. The stage was announced to return on 16 February 2023 in the Fresh Season 2023 announcement. 1 March 2023

  • Eggstra Work event.
    • Eggstra Work is new event where players form a team with friends, challenge a fixed 5 Wave job scenario, and compete for the total number of Golden Eggs obtained during the scenario. Much like Big Runs, depending if players reach the top 50%, 20%, or 5% of egg scores, they'll receive a bronze, silver, or gold version respectively of a sticker reward handed out to everyone. The first Eggstra Work was active during April of Fresh Season 2023.[1]

Locker customizations

Fresh Season 2023 added 67 new locker customization items: 17 decorations and 50 stickers:

  • 4 total decorations are unlockable via reaching top 500 in X Battle.
  • 8 total customizations are available for purchase at the Grizzco shop: 3 decorations and 5 stickers.
  • 12 total customizations are unlockable Salmon Run Next Wave event rewards: 4 decorations may be earned through Big Run and 8 stickers may be earned through Eggstra Work.
  • 18 total customizations are available for purchase at Hotlantis and the Shell-Out Machine after being unlocked in the seasonal Catalog: 6 decorations and 12 stickers.
    • 1 sticker was made available for purchase from these vendors without the need to unlock it from the Catalog.
  • 24 total stickers are unlockable by obtaining 2 or 3 stars in the newly added weapons' Freshness rating.
    • There are 2 stickers unlockable for each individual weapon, awarded upon reaching 2-Star Freshness and 3-Star Freshness.

Tableturf Battle

Starting in Fresh Season 2023, up to two players at a time are now able to play Tableturf Battle against one another via local multiplayer at the Shoal or online multiplayer in the the lobby. Players are now able to create Tableturf Battle rooms in the lobby, where non-participating players may join and spectate matches.
