Coverage on topics such as direct quotes from shopkeepers and translations of international Splatfest dialogue has been partially covered so far. As Inkipedia's scope expands with the Spanish branch having launched in April of 2022, resources on those topics must be improved and up-to-date.
How to datamine in-game text
This will require the use of the Switch Toolbox program. The relevant files for Splatoon and Splatoon 2 are fully supported. In the case of Splatoon 3, some portions can be navigated, but there is a catch: due to the way Big Man's dialogue is formatted (I believe it's coded in a way that ensures the portion in parenthesis doesn't play any vocal tracks), a different tool will be needed to view the complete dialogue.
For Splatfest
There is currently an ongoing initiative by a dedicated group of fans to preserve Splatfest data. Unfortunately, not every Splatfest has been recovered at this time, but a few of the ones that have been are yet to be recorded on this wiki.

When downloading pre-S3 data, open the .byaml with the Switch Toolbox. A handful of these files lack filename extensions, which the program acts oddly with. If this is the case, the file that the quotes and names are in is the one with the smallest size. The one surefire way to open those files is to double-click directly on them. When Windows asks which program to open this file with, use that prompt to open it in Toolbox. Additionally, while all fests include unused winning dialogue, the dialogues for S3 are individually encrypted, with the key for the relevant dialogue being distributed when announcements are made. As a result, there is no way to access unused dialogue for these fests.
Splatfests from Retro vs. Modern onwards have mostly been accounted for. However, a user did take the time to document the "start" quote for some French Splatfests (under an "introduction" section that should be renamed to avoid confusion). It is in our interest to add these for other languages as well. Many Splatfests from before this point are also missing the complete dialogue, often cutting off the hosts' reminders to pick a team or to collect your Super Sea Snails. While most of these are generic, some reminders (like Naughty vs. Nice and SpongeBob vs. Patrick) are given a unique spin, so we should be consistent in this aspect.
Weapon and gear names
Many gear and weapon pages have an incomplete "Names in other languages" section. Fortunately, there is a very convenient resource that has access to all weapon and gear names in every language available for Splatoon 2.
Mem cakes
There has not yet been a large-scale attempt to translate international texts for the mem cake entries. This aspect of the Octo Expansion is one of the more reliable ways to find out more about series' lore through Agent 8's point of view. Fortunately, there is also a convenient way to access international texts. However, Quebec French and Latin American Spanish poems were not included, so they will need to be accessed manually.
