Fest Zest is another cover of the victory theme by Off the Hook. The instrumentation is based on the original theme, rather than Turf Master, and it features Pearl rapping over the beat. Despite being credited as an Off the Hook song, Marina does not appear to play a role in this version vocal-wise. It replaced Turf Master in Splatfests, playing after the standard victory jingle. It is also heard on the Player Settings screen and in Squid Beatz 2, with a maximum score of 46 and 64 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively, and is included in Splatune 2.

During the Past vs. Present vs. Future Splatfest in Splatoon 3, a special Grand Festival variation of Battle Victory by the Squid Sisters could be played as the battle victory theme. It was heard by all players when Team Past won against another team and by players on the winning team in a match between two teams on Team Past. The intro is sped up significantly over the original Battle Victory, and features vocals from the Squid Sisters singing City of Color, as well as their cheers from Ink Me Up. After 10 seconds, the bass line from the Battle Victory jingle plays and then finishes as the players on the winning team display their poses. A percussion track continues until the 14-second mark, at which point it features the melody from Ink Me Up.

During the Past vs. Present vs. Future Splatfest in Splatoon 3, a special Grand Festival variation of Fest Zest could be played as the battle victory theme. It was heard by all players when Team Present won against another team and by players on the winning team in a match between two teams on Team Present. While the opening of the song is identical to that of Fest Zest, after 9 seconds, two cheers reminiscent of the original version of Battle Victory are added, then more vocals from Pearl and a last cheer from a crowd. After that, the beat of Fest Zest continues until the the 14-second mark, at which point it features the melody from Muck Warfare.

Victory jingle (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate plays an arrangement of Battle Victory as Inkling's victory theme. It is jazz-inspired, using brass instruments.

Other versions

Turf Master (Splatoon 2 Global Testfire)

An alternate version of Turf Master was heard during the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire. Unlike the final version, it does not utilize live instruments and it is missing the guitar lick right before the song loops.

Trivia

  • When playing as Inkling Boy in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, their vehicle's horn samples the Victory jingle.
  • In WarioWare: Get It Together!, an arrangement of the jingle is played when the winning team in the Splatoon 2 microgame is guessed correctly. The jingle speeds up to match the current microgame speed.

Etymology

While Battle Victory is a self-explanatory title, Turf Master implies the player winning a Turf War (despite its usage in every game mode), while Fest Zest references the song's usage in Splatfests. "Zest" can mean enthusiasm or happiness, referencing the happiness felt when winning, and rhymes with "fest".
