This band is a newly formed duo based in Inkopolis Square, with a rapidly growing attention from the Splatlandian youth.[2] It is described as a topical band with pretentious visuals and lyrics that the youth think is somewhat annoying, yet part of their charm.[3] They were inspired by Wet Floor, and their activities are more centered around studio recordings than live performances.[4]
Lionel is a mimic octopus and the band's vocalist and keyboardist.[1] They started playing music under the influence of their older sister, who is a contemporary dancer. Cory is their childhood friend, and they attended the same international school. They like tracksuits, and wear a different one every day. They generally have a flippant personality, but when it comes to music, they have their own aesthetic sensibilities and are famous for refusing to compromise on the particulars. They are in charge of composing music, which is based on humming recorded in voice memos that are offloaded onto Cory.[4]
Cory
Cory is an anchor coral and the band's guitarist.[1] They intended to become a nursery teacher after graduating high school, but were invited by Lionel to start a band. They are skilled in a variety of different instruments and equipment, and can also arrange music. They sometimes get fed up with Lionel's requests, but usually keep it to themself. They are cranky in the mornings, as every day they are woken up by the flickering light of their own hair. They have enrolled in a music school run by Nishida from Hightide Era.[4] Cory is also a featured artist in Soak & Stomp (Grand Mix) by Anglerfish.

Even though they haven't been together long, this duo from Greater Inkopolis is already making a big splash. Vocals and synths weave together into a crystal-clear torrent of sound that'll get your blood pumping. The unit's pretentious look sticks out like a sore tentacle in the Splatlands—but young people are eating it up.
H2Whoa started getting attention after a radio station in Splatsville put their music into the daily rotation. It was like an Inkopolitan retort to the wild "Splatlands sound" folks were used to, and young local fans of loud rock woke up and took notice. Maybe what's in and what's out are just two sides of the same coin...
H2Whoa is a portmanteau of H2O, the chemical formula for water, and the exclamation "whoa". In addition, the inclusion of the number 2 might reference the fact that the band has two members.
Cory is a given name that is likely also a reference to "coral".
