The Modded Rainmaker Test-Fire is a Challenge in Splatoon 3. It was first announced during the Drizzle Season 2023 Announcement trailer[1] and is the fifteenth available Challenge in Splatoon 3. It was first made available to play on 9 October 2023.
Description
In this Challenge, players compete in Rainmaker matches with a modified Rainmaker weapon, which shoots three blasts of ink at full charge instead of the normal one blast. Additionally, the player holding the Rainmaker will gain the benefits given from the Tacticooler special. To counterbalance this, the explosion timer only lasts 30 seconds. The stages available are Inkblot Art Academy and Humpback Pump Track.
Rules
Help test Sheldon's latest modifications to the Rainmaker weapon, and get some good battling in while you're at it!
- All battles will be in Rainmaker mode.
- Fully charged Rainmaker shots will now fire in three directions!
- The abilities of the player holding the Rainmaker will be boosted!
- The Rainmaker will explode 30 seconds after being picked up. Watch out!
- Both primary and secondary abilities will be enabled.

- This challenge was accidentally leaked a few days before the Drizzle Season 2023 announcement trailer from a now-deleted tweet by the @SplatoonNA Twitter account. It announced a Challenge featuring Sheldon's modified Rainmaker design. On 18 August 2023,[2] @SplatoonNA acknowledged the mistake by saying, "Our SRL intern previously mixed up the theme among their excitement for Drizzle Season, but we can now confirm the next Challenge starts tomorrow!".
