The Now or Never Seven is an idol supergroup made up of the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut. The group will perform live during the Past vs. Present vs. Future Splatfest in Splatoon 3.

History

Prior to the supergroup's formation, the Squid Sisters collaborated with Big Man of Deep Cut, who worked in secret under the alias "Ian BGM", on the song Liquid Sunshine; this led to Shiver and Frye retaliating against Big Man for "betraying" Splatsville in the song Big Betrayal. Later, Shiver and Frye participated in a singing battle against Off the Hook in the song Suffer No Fools.

The Sizzle Season 2024 trailer ends with a short clip of a jellyfish holding merchandise for all three idol groups in an area resembling the tutorial area, possibly hinting at the collaboration.

During Interview: The Great Big Three-Group Summit!, the three groups expressed mutual interest in a larger collaboration that included all three groups. The name "Now or Never Seven" was decided on based on how all three of the involved groups perform a version of the song Now or Never!.

Before the final name was decided on by Shiver and Pearl, several other names were suggested:

  • "Seafood Squad" by Frye
  • "Tricolor All-Stars" by Callie
  • "Sparkling ☆ Seven Sea Stars" by Marina
  • "The Now or Nevers" by Marie
  • "Extra-Large Seafood Squadron Now or Never Seven" by Frye, which Shiver suggested to shorten to just "Now or Never Seven"

Several gear items themed after the Now or Never Seven's headpieces were distributed via the Nintendo Switch News app as Grand Festival-themed promotional gear:

Music

The group's only known song is Three Wishes, which will be performed during the second part of the Grand Festival.
