Peristalsis Phase
Transport the energy core!
Peristalsis Phase is the sixth stage in the Octo Expansion's finale.
Gameplay
Agent 8 must ride an energy core-driven platform with the energy core acquired from the previous stage to the end of the level, defending it from a long series of enemies and obstacles.
If the energy core loses all its health, Agent 8 must restart from the last checkpoint. Checkpoints can heal the core, but it cannot regain health any other way.
If the player gets repeatedly splatted, they have the option to skip this phase, with each splat contributing to 20% Skip Charge, where the following dialogue will be displayed:
"Agent 8 defended the energy core and plugged it in..."

Trivia
- The developers revealed that if Agent 8 gets splatted during this phase, they will actually die, because they are not connected to a respawn platform. This means the game goes back in time every time you get splatted during the escapes.

Translation notes
- ↑ Probably comes from "de pil vergulden", a Dutch expression meaning "to say something very painful with kind words in a gentle way".
- ↑ "Pulpar" comes from pulpo ("octopus") and adds ar to make it a verb, to octopus.
