Salmon Run Next Wave is a co-op multiplayer mode in Splatoon 3 for up to four players. It is a sequel to Salmon Run in Splatoon 2 and was revealed on 9 February 2022 during a Nintendo Direct.

Salmon Run Next Wave was revealed on 9 February 2022. It is presumed that the rules will not change and that most Boss Salmonids will return from Splatoon 2, as well as some new ones. A new feature, Egg Throw, has been added. Players can use ink to throw held Golden Eggs to other teammates to put them in the basket. Additionally, any Golden Eggs thrown at the Egg Basket will be inserted automatically. Players can also use "squid rolls" seen in previous trailers. The main antagonist seems to be a giant Salmonid similar to a Cohock, but much larger and with white eyes and a metal chain on its neck. This Salmonid was referred to as a King Salmonid by SplatoonNA on Twitter.[1]

It is currently unknown what the rotations will be in Salmon Run Next Wave.

Loaned weapons

So far, there are only a few loaned weapons confirmed in Salmon Run Next Wave, including the Splat Roller, Splattershot, Blaster, Splat Charger, Classic Squiffer, and Tri-Stringer. Currently, the only confirmed special weapons that can be assigned to the players are the Crab Tank and Killer Wail 5.1.

So far, only one stage has been announced for Salmon Run Next Wave:
