Signature

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki
This article is about characters' signatures. For signature-like graffiti marks, see graffiti. For the Inkipedia policy on user signatures, see INK:SIG.

A signature is a depiction of a character's name, often using mimicked letters to represent the signatory's name in Japanese or another language, similar to other occurrences of in-game languages. Throughout the Splatoon series, signatures have often been associated with in-game artists, likely due to the association of many real-life musicians or other celebrities with autographs.

His signature also appears in his Tableturf Battle card sleeve. Sunken Scroll 19 appears to depict Cuttlefish's signature on the documents regarding Agent 3's promotion. Some of the graffiti that can appear during the victory screen, as stickers, on some stages and hubs, or during special Splatfests appear to be signatures of unknown origin.

Outside of the Grand Festival Grounds are a set of colored banners that contain many in-game artists' signatures and seem to be matched to each of the Past vs. Present vs. Future teams, or a lack thereof:

Promotional material

Promotional material for Shiokalive at Cho Party 2016 contains autographs by the Squid Sisters. These autographs also appear in The Art of Splatoon 2.

Promotional images of the Squid Sisters,[3] Off the Hook,[4] and Deep Cut[5] that were posted on social media during the buildup to the Grand Festival contain each member's respective signatures. As part of a pop-up shop that was open in late 2024, scenes representing the shops from Splatsville were constructed, which included the signatures that can be seen outside of Hotlantis.[6]

BancalaWalker contains a full page spread that lists and assigns signatures to each of the band members whose signatures appear at Hotlantis or the Grand Festival Grounds. This spread is the first confirmation of the signatories of most of those signatures, other than those of the idol groups, which have been confirmed previously.
