The Splatoon Testfire was the second Splatoon demo, available after the game's launch. Similarly to the pre-release Splatoon Global Testfire, Nintendo hosted various events at specific times for players to all join the game at once. The first event took place on 21 August 2015.
A third and final demo was held in Europe and America in August 2016, roughly a month after the conclusion of the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest. The respective titles in the aforementioned regions were the Splatoon Summer Testfire 2016 and Splatoon Summer Splatdown.
Event times
2015
The North American event times were announced on 15 August 2015 and later reconfirmed through Squid Research Lab.[1] The demo was made available to download at the same time. The event ran from 21 to 23 August 2015 at 22:00 UTC each day and lasted two hours per session.
2016
In North America, the event ran from 25 to 28 August 2016 each day and lasted two hours per session, those hours being from 3pm P.T. and 5pm P.T. [2]
In Europe, however, the Testfire was held from 18 August 2016 until 1 September 2016 with no timeframe restrictions.[3]
