"Paruko" kind of sounds like "pulse-code," as in pulse-code modulation. Could that be an intentional pun? Gomtuu (talk) 17:26, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- You might be onto something! Not only does that fit with the classic consoles theme of ABXY, but now that I think about it Noijī is "noise", and Shikaku is a definite match for 四角, "square"/"rectangle". This probably should be brought up on Talk:Chirpy Chips. — Ikaheishi (talk) 18:24, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't even look at the other names! Raian is part of the word トライアングル (triangle), too. The NES had two square channels, a triangle channel, a noise channel, and a DPCM channel. Can't be coincidence! Gomtuu (talk) 18:41, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
