Stage schedule error issue.

Sometimes when a lot of stage rotations have passed on the Main Page's schedule, when I try to refresh the page to find what stages are next when both say "Previous" on their times, it says "Now" and/or "Next, in Hr.:Min.:Sec." for one frame then changing to "Previous" again. I can fix this by "Purging the page" FYI. I'm just asking if this is a problem for multiple people and can it be fixed outside of page purging? Thanks. P.J. GT (talk) 04:21, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Gear Stores

Yeah, according to the level article, specific levels unlock two-star and three-star gear, so not all players get the same gear due to some players having a low level. On top of the level stuff, I think Nintendo also randomizes the available gear per-person, so even if two players have the same level, they will still not have the same gear in the shops. How can I help add information to Splatoon 3?

Hello, I'm HalfSanitized, and I'm fairly new to the wiki. I am a very big Splatoon fan, and was trying to add Splatoon 3 info to the wiki. I accidentally added unconfirmed information, which was then taken down. I really want to add Splatoon 3 information, but I'm not sure how. Is there a way to make a link to a page with multiple articles to choose from?

I was wondering if there was a way to create a link that would take the user to a page with multiple article links they could choose from. For example, I have recently created the page for Alterna. However, there is also a link for an uncreated page called "Alterna (mode)". Should the Manga icon be changed?

Even though I'm not a fan of the Splatoon Manga, I believe the current image of Prince for the link on the Main Page should be changed to one of Goggles instead. As he's the "main protagonist/mascot" of the Manga, while Prince is a former-antagonist and current supporting character. It could be the front cover of Volume 1 as the image instead. I think it's perfectly fine as is. Nobody has ever complained about the icon until now, and it's done the job of conveying the manga section just fine, so why change it? If I had one gripe with it, it would be that it doesn't match the style of the other icons too well, but I could totally draw another icon if you guys wanted me to, as it'll help Inkipedia in some way. Additionally, the icon that Eminence just proposed has too much detail, and it would probably look like a disaster when compressed.

Here is what the image would look like when compressed to 24 pixels: It doesn't look very good right now, but I think it would look better if someone were to cut out the head and delete the rest of the body. I might do it if I can find the time. I do think that this icon would be better than the current one. That's just my opinion, though. That looks okay, but you can clearly see the area in which Goggles' body has been erased, and it's off-center, which wouldn't look great on the main page, sadly. Tch... Sure, whatever Heddy... If you think that the cropped Goggles is the best, then I'm not one to judge. I'm sure WoomyGirl put a lot of thought and effort into cropping that out, but it just looks unprofessional and messy. Having a blatant copy and paste of the Champion vs Challenger Goggles art mixed in with the SplatNet 2 icons just makes it stick out like a sore thumb, and it does not display the professional and high quality standard that we strive to maintain. Think about it, everyone who visits the main page will see that intentionally childish attempt at an illustration of Goggles. Everyone will see that. I agree with the cropped Goggles image. It's more official (coming from Nintendo) than the current one which I'm not sure where it came from. It's also a character's head which does fit with most of the other icons that are also character's head. It also looks nice so yeah. Thanks for the compliment. I'm just a little ticked off at how an official image, regardless if it's good or not, seems to have priority over fan art of any kind. Like, I get how you aren't supposed to post any unofficial content on a character's wiki page for example, but if it's literally the main page, having accurate and high quality fan art should be a priority over official art that doesn't fit. Nintendo isn't gonna provide every little bit of art for every character in every style, so liberties should be taken in order to ensure the highest quality on the main page. Even the Goggles image and the current icon of Prince from Volume 5 have both been unofficially cropped! (Sorry for all this ranting..! Just need to get the point across...) I realize the cropped Champ vs Challenger icon doesn't look super clean, but it is going to be shrunk quite a bit and will fit in better than the current one. New Issue.

Ever since the addition of the Countdown to S3 section being added, it and the Welcome section are narrow on mobile view (EXTREMELY narrow if viewed on a smartphone). Can this be fixed?

Stage Rotations

When Splatoon 3 comes out, are we going to replace the Splatoon 2 stage rotations with the ones from Splatoon 3 or will we have both of them on the Main Page? Woomy? is talking about having the features on the main page. I think all of the features currently shown are amazing, but the amount of frontpage space dedicated to Splatoon 2 should probably be significantly reduced, similar but not exactly like we have 0 space showing information about Splatoon 1's rotations. A small section that shows the current Ranked mode, League mode, and Salmon Run status strike me as the most important, and this section can of course link to a page more dedicated to 2's current rotation breakdown, while 3 gets a big old breakdown front and center. A good question, but I don't think we'll make any decisions on that front until Splatoon 3 is released so that we can gauge interest and see how inconvenient/bulky it is with both. I don't think we'll remove the Splatoon 2 rotations outright for as long as we're able to get them, and at most would move them to a page which would be linked on the main page, if I had to guess. One link to all Hero Modes?

Now that Splatoon 3 is almost two weeks away, I've been thinking... Since there will now be "four" Hero Modes (Probably five counting the "Large-Scale" paid DLC) so far in the Series, should we have a link to a Disambig of all of them on the Main Page instead of individual links to each of them? As there is no longer a link to Octo Valley (AND possibly Octo Canyon and the Octo Expansion), this will be more streamlined in finding and accessing them. Sincerely, P.J. Depending on the amount of lore links to all the hero modes, such as the 'screaming' before/after the second boss in Splatoon 2 with theorists theorizing that it could be the past subjects of Commander Tar Tar, if this were to be true there should be a linkage page introduced into the hero mode sections talking about the confirmed and possible links with its own section under the hero mode section you are proposing so there could also be another hero mode entry with the creation of the full Hero mode section. The middle row has Splatfests, Stages & Equipment. And the right row has Characters, music & Community content. I plan on making draft pages for the red links, plus a Salmon Run Disambig. What is the best shooter for turf war? (Splatoon 3)

I've been using different shooters in turf war (I know everybody has weapons they are better at then others) My friend strongly agrees that its The Aerospray MG, While I Personally think it could lean towards some of the Dualies, like the Dark Tetra Dualies as they are able to connect with my skill set well. Stage Rotations

I noticed that when Splatoon 3 released the Current Stages section on the main page got deleted, why dont we should add it again with Splatoon 3 stages? It will make the main page more complete. I can't do it because of the page being protected.

You just go to an admin's user page, go to the "discussion" tab (or click the "talk" in their signature), create a new topic about this if there isn't a discussion going already, and you can discuss it with the admin that way. Wikirby has some good ideas

Looking at the main page of wikirby there are some things that i think we at inkipedia could take cues from, such as the "did you know?" And "featured article" sections. Me and a few others use the Main Page/Featured module from the main page to highlight relevant news, linking to articles and thus featuring them in the process. In the past, we used the Inkipedia:Featured content process to put a spotlight on stuff. This doesn't need to be limited to admins; if anyone wants to create main page content, they are welcome to do so as long as their idea is unopposed. If someone wants to revive the featured content process, or create something else like "did you know", I will be happy to add it to the main page once you have brought your idea to life! If making a new process like "did you know" or any new type of segment for the main page, you can start by making a draft in your user space. Heddy (talk) 01:35, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

For problems like this to discuss them you would go to the Ink Pump. The main page talk page if for edits on the talk page. The people changing you edits are doing it to improve the wiki. You can add an image by adding something like this: [[File:Splatoon 2 - Green Inkling Squid icon.png|20px]]. The 20px part is to limit the size of the image since the policy (INK:SIG) says that the signature has to be less than 30 pixels in height.  GX_64 (talk)  00:15, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

Should the Splatoon 2 content be on a separate page? Or should it be on the Main Page in a separate section at the bottom of the page?

I am personally fine with both options, however I am leaning towards leaving the link at the bottom of the page. I do not know how we could further incorporate the Splatoon 2 content into the Main Page other than what you have done already, other than making a condensed version of the Splatoon 2 content and putting that on the Main Page instead. I think we can leave it only with the link you added Heddy, as now Splatoon 3 is the current "active" game, I think it would be better to leave the Spotlight to Splatoon 3 as Splatoon 2 life time ended completely with version 5.5.0, I dont see so necessary to add to the main page the Splatoon 2 info.
