Social media accounts
Why do we have the Inkipedia Facebook and YouTube shown prominently on the main page given that neither have posted in years and the YouTube account only seemed to be used to show hero mode play throughs? Freddie (talk) 11:36, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

- I think the purpose is to simply link to everywhere that Inkipedia has official presence, so activity of each account is not a factor. Plus, it wouldn't look as good if there were only 2 images (Twitter and Discord) in that section. 4 is a nice number of social media accounts; it shows that Inkipedia has a decent presence on social media. Just my opinion of course. If most people agree that Facebook and YouTube should be removed then we can remove them. Heddy (talk) 18:23, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
The Welcome Template
As we have changed the theme of Inkipedia to match the original Splatoon, I think that the “Welcome To Inkipedia!” box is due for a change as well. I think we should replace the image of the Inkling girl with this image; File:Splatoon - Orange and blue Inklings key art.png and also replace the icons for major sections of the website. Using an internet archive called Wayback Machine, I could go to a snapshot of the wiki back in 2016, where the main Inkling image for the welcome wasFile:Splatoon - Orange Inkling girl.png During this time however, there were only six main sections, as opposed to our current 12, but here are the six. Marie was characters, Annie and Moe were gear, Callie was modes, and Octoling was stages,
a Male Inkling was weapons, and Judd was just game version, so we can skip that. So really it’s just 5, so for the other 7, I thought that Salmon Tun can stay the same, Hero Mode will either be Cap’n Cuttlefish or DJ Octavio, events will be the Splatoon Splatfest symbol, Music could potentially be a Splatune box or Squid Squad’s album cover. Catalogs could be one of the two images for the Inkling gear section in Splatoon, either File:S Icon Equip Inkling Girl.png or File:S Icon Equip Inkling Boy.png Brands could stay the same, or could be replaced with the Splatoon SquidForce logo, the difference with the current one being the coloring. Abilities would be Spyke of course, Locations, amiibo, and manga can stay the same, and merchandise could be File:Sanei Inkling Squid orange cushion.jpg I know it may be a lot, sorry, but I think these icons would work as another part of our original Splatoon throw back. I would do all this myself, but the page is protected, so I need a higher up to do it. If you are a higher up reading this, please consider these changes. Thank you! Stay Fresh! - I would avoid changing icons this time around, especially since a lot of them lack transparent backgrounds. Perfectionist (talk) 10:14, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oh that’s strange. When I was putting them in the topic source editor it showed the image. Must’ve been a mistake, thanks for letting me know. I do understand that some lack transparent versions (plus the fact that manually editing the background out is against policy) so I do get why you said so, thanks again for telling me!
