One eye?

"...similar to Spyke other than the fact Murch has only one eye." - Spyke also only has one eye. Don't all the sea urchins just have one eye? Neal (talk) 14:13, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's hard to tell with Spyke since his "hair" covers part of his face. --Splatzoner (talk) 15:22, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Species

I believe Murch is based off of a slate pencil urchin, not a banded urchin. Spyke might be based off of one, but i think Murch's spikes aren't the right color or thickness. Floptheocto (talk) 18:29, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Should I copy-paste Spyke's mechanics here?

Assuming Murch's services work identically to Spyke's (with the exception of the level 16 to 19 when determining ordered gear's sub abilities), should I:

  1. copy-paste Spyke's section to Murch (available starting at level 4, order prices, etc.), or
  2. merely clarify that Murch's services work identically to Spyke's?

I think this helps players who only look at Murch's page and not Spyke's. Those who play the original Splatoon are rare now. — Exaskliri (talk | contribs) 15:03, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Articles should not omit information merely because a feature was present in another character from another game. This article should contain complete documentation on Murch, and Spyke's article should completely document Spyke. Heddy (talk) 22:22, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Verify Murch's prices when ordering gear from another player

Prices of an ordered gear
Rarity Number of filled sub ability slots
0 1 2 3
Star-full.pngStar-empty.pngStar-empty.png 1,000 2,000 20,000 100,000
Star-full.pngStar-full.pngStar-empty.png 5,000 10,000 20,000 100,000
Star-full.pngStar-full.pngStar-full.png 15,000 30,000 50,000 100,000

When I added the table of prices when ordering gear from another player via Murch, there was no mention of order prices anywhere on the page. Because the table of sub ability chance on ordered gear already exists with different data from Splatoon, I assumed that the order prices should be the same as Splatoon. I hope so, because I was looking around the internet for price evidence and the ones I can confirm so far are linked and highlighted with a different background. If anyone can confirm more prices, they may highlight the table cells above. — Exaskliri (they/them) (talk | contribs) 06:21, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

4-star?

In one of the pictures of Murch in splatoon 3, it shows him with a piece of gear that has 4 stars. Is this real or fake, and if it is real, how should we update it?     Octohachi S3 Weapon Special Triple Inkstrike.pngS2 Salmon Run boss Griller.pngS2 Icon Golden Egg.png 21:21, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Question

Hey guys, I'm probably wrong on this, but I think the heading "artwork of murch" is maybe incorrect because it looks more like a render than art. I might be seeing this wrong, but I sort of doubt it. I don't know what I would put in place of "artwork of Murch" and I was just pointing this out. Thanks, and stay fresh! Well, a render is just 3D computer generated art, so it's still a kind of artwork. But you're right, it just doesn't seem right to call a 3D character model render just "artwork". So, maybe change it to "3D art of Murch" or "3D model of Murch" or "3D render of Murch", or something else, whatever sounds best to you. Heddy (talk) 01:25, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Maybe even just "Murch in Splatoon 3". Heddy (talk) 01:26, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok! Sorry I didn't reply for a while (I forgot to hit the subscribe button). I'll change it to one of the names you listed. Thanks!

Add Table for S3 Gear odds?

I think it would be useful to add gear odds table under Order Gear from Another Player, odds are documented here, but I don't know how to make a table and I haven't found any research into how ordering 0-2 star gear changes price/outcome. ReaperBob (talk) 16:47, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

S2 Murch can indeed preserve SplatNet 2 primaries

"A piece of gear ordered from another player is guaranteed to inherit its primary ability even if the original gear has a different primary ability from its default one (i.e. obtained via Splatnet 2)"

This is not true—Murch has offered me orders that retained their nonstandard primary ability three times. The first two were novelty visors from SpringFest: my Pink Novelty Visor has Swim Speed Up (default: Tenacity) and my Orange Novelty Visor has Main Power Up (default is Last-Ditch Effort). The third was a Retro Gamer Jersey with Swim Speed Up instead of Quick Respawn, and this time I had the sense to take a screencap: File:SplatNet2 Murch RGJ.JPG LaserFern (talk) 17:52, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think that sentence is saying ordered gear DOES keep the primary ability the other player had even if it's a non-standard one. Lyichir (talk) 20:21, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You're right, my bad! I read it wrong initially and not bothered to reread it more carefully when I encountered evidence that contradicted my mistaken interpretation. LaserFern (talk) 21:05, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
