Will this really be released?

I added the Future Template just incase if this will really be released. AsrielTheInkling (talk) 00:51, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

This was announced in the Nintendo Direct today, along with version 3.0.0 SquidDude123 (talk) 02:58, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

Move

This page should either be expanded and moved to Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion or merged into Splatoon 2. --Raltseye prata med mej 03:30, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

I think it is fine where it is.--Doughnutsprinkles8 (talk) 19:19, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, after some thought it's best to leave out Splatoon 2 from the title of the page at least. --Raltseye prata med mej 20:43, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

trivia (8ball)

Im new at this editing thing, so forgive me if this is not the right way to do this, but it has not gone unnoticed that the levels for octo are references to the 80’s and 90’s pop culture. As such, even though most of the pages for the individual levels state the reference in the trivia secion, I personally think it would be appropriate to mention it in the main article for octo expansion. Also, the 8ball levels are references to the responses from the Magic 8 Ball toy, which was popularized in the appropriate decades listed earlier. Seeing as there are multiple levels with this same trivia, i think it would be better to list that under the main article rather than copy and paste it on the article for each level. But im new at this so, ill leave it up to those who actually know what theyre doing. (Acrid (talk) 18:44, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Acrid)

Personally, I think a general point on the main article stating that level names are references to 80's/90's pop culture and keeping what the references actually are on the pages of the levels themselves. Inkling luke.png Inkling talk.png 19:06, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Thumbnails for the escape Phases

Is it possible to have the thumbnail of the escape Phases be a screenshot for when the intro happens where the Phase name appears at the top-left corner? E.g. this:

Dual-track station denotation

For each table, I think it would be beneficial to put the second track's name after the table track. For example, for No Whammy Station in the E table, I think it should be denoted as E01I03 No Whammy Station. On the I table, it would be reversed to be I03E01 No Whammy Station. This would further clarify for players what tracks go where. I don't want to mess up the table flow and just do it without getting someone else's opinion. I tried it in preview mode and it doesn't look half bad. The table adjusts itself automatically so I say go ahead. I also personally want a re-drawn map (so no copyright issues) with all track numbers marked in and placed above Line A. Like this pic though it doesn't have numbers. Hadaasharpedo (talk) 20:27, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Having another ID for each level causes some of the level names to extend past the width of the level image. We could increase the image width, but given that the purpose of those tables is only to show the levels in each line, having an ID from another line is not really necessary. A map would do a better job of showing players what tracks go where. Anyone with some graphic design skills should step up and make one! Heddy (talk) 23:15, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
I see. We'll note the dual track on the map then (I'll do it in the following days if no one else picks up), though my skill is at Word Art and Microsoft Paint level :p Hadaasharpedo (talk) 00:30, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

Added. Feel free to edit and make it better as I am not fluent in wiki codes and rules. And when I mean by "later letter", I mean while Line A generally costs 100 pt, G06/A01 is treated as Line G which has a common fee of 500 pt. Hadaasharpedo (talk) 20:02, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

More Station Denotation: Ink Colour

I recently undid an edit by User:Woomy13 that added ink colours to each level a la Octo Canyon (mode). First, I'd like to apologize to Woomy13, as I did not realize this was a standard used in other articles. Second, I'd like the opinion here. Personally, I don't think this page needs the ink colours. The colours are all very similar pink/purple, and the tables are already filled with the station markers. Is there maybe a better way to implement these ink colours without clutter?

Either way, I think this edit should probably be done in one fell swoop, so as not to make the page appear mismatched. Jtlogo.png | talk | contribs 02:43, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Unlike Octo Canyon (mode), The focus of the colors is on the station markers this time, so I agree we should just leave it be (=do without ink colors). Hadaasharpedo (talk) 20:21, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

Interactive map

Hi. On some other NIWA wikis, they have game maps that are interactive, so when you click on a world/ level, you go to that page. Would that be possible with the deepsea metro map? Pinkyoshifan (talk) 17:13, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

Layout Detail

Quick question: I've been editing a few of the Octo Expansion stages' pages, and I was wondering how detailed they should be: for instance, should I just write the general concept of the stage and maybe some notable attributes, should I write a very detailed explanation of each individual section or something in between? --PiePanda999 (talk) 22:32, 4 March 2019 (UTC)PiePanda999

Speedrun section?

As we all know, there are multiple speedrunning tricks and tactics for beating stations in this expansion. Shouldn't we add a section for that? --WoomyMcBoomy (talk) 14:24, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Speedrunning is already a section in the Community Glossary. If you want, you can add Octo Expansion speedruns to it. dedf1sh07[talk]S2 Gear Headgear Golden Toothpick.png 16:23, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Possible Walkthroughs?

I was thinking we should add walkthroughs for the stations. The other story modes have in-depth walkthroughs. Maybe we could do walkthroughs with the assigned weapons in each station? We should also add walkthroughs for the Escape Phases and IA3.--YOLO2020S2 icon Agent 3.png 17:04, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Skip Charge music

I've noticed that when you get splatted and finally get the option to skip one of the phases, it plays a more quiet Color Pulse. Should I add that to trivia? DynamoOcto Expansion chat session 8 image.png 12:20, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
