Talk:Unconscience
etymology
my first thought was that unsconscience was a mix of unconscious and science, what do you guys think? VioletOcto (Talk) 23:51, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- "Conscience" is already listed as part of the etymology; "conscience" and "science" have a common etymological root (the latin verb "scio"), but are otherwise unrelated. Yoshifan52 (talk) 00:05, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
An Imposing Claim Against the Judebox
Dear fans:
I would like to share an injustice that I find against the judebox, the reason for this is that as we should already know...
Marina was possessed at the beginning of the story, and since it was the same fate that Callie suffered (Splatoon 2' story), the performer of this song should be have Free Association feat. Marina.
Another reason is that in terms of instruments, it goes beyond what Marina had progressed as a DJ producer, don't you think, guys? DragonBlue00 (talk) 01:09, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- To be honest none of that matters for the purposes of the wiki, since the goal is to document the game as it is and currently the track is credited solely to Marina. There's really no room for that sort of speculation, especially when the nature of "Free Association" as an artist/group/label is so vague and ambiguous (unlike scenarios where two distinct characters are clearly performing together). - Recent Famitsu interview confirmed that it is a Marina's solo, but she is unlikely to remember anything about the production. Additionally, Free Association is the name of floating fishes found throughout floors.

Referenced in Short Order?
In Short Order, the "Rakakakabun rakakakabun" bar seems to reference this song (the similarity is clearest at 0:58 in Unconscience.) It's a pretty distinct motif, and although it's hard to tell with the reverb in Unconscience, it might be the same lyrics as well. Is this solid enough to be added to the Samples and interpolations section? astraNaut (talk) 06:56, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure on the lyrics being 1:1 the same; as you said, the lyrics of Unconscience are pretty hard to discern, plus we generally avoid going off of perceived phonetics, but the connection is there. I do think the similarity is very strong, I listened to both sections back to back and I'm surprised that the portion in Unconscience is the same amount of syllables as Pearl's lines in Short Order. It's enough to add to the page, though I would prefer the instance at around 0:07 in Unsconscience is listed (rather than that heard at 0:58) as the two lines sound the same to me, and the former can be easily examined via the sample provided on the page.
