Weapon Brand Disambiguations

We currently have disambiguation pages of Weapon Brands such as Deco, Dolphin, and Neo. Perhaps these should instead be redirects to the subsections of this page, and any content there merged in? Slate Talk Contribs 14:43, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sounds good to me! No use having the same exact thing in two places. :b --Bzeep! talk 20:11, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

whale

The Squid Research Lab says that it's a whale not a dolphin.

Potential different name?

I noticed when the Splatoon tumblr mentioned the amiibo weapons being reskins of existing ones, it collectively referred to the Splattershot, Splat Charger, and Splat Roller as belong to the "Splat series." Does that mean that the official name is not weapon brand, but weapon series? --MandL27 (talk) 22:07, 14 September 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What post? Any official confirmation would be good! AmbientDinosaurSig.pngAmbientDinosaurSigTalk.png 17:22, 15 September 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please note that 3 weapons–Hero Shot Replica, Hero Charger Replica, and Hero Roller Replica—can only be obtained by completing amiibo Challenges and are not available from normal gameplay. In case you weren't aware: while they look funky fresh, these 3 weapons share the same statistics as their Splat series versions.

New weapon brands in Splatoon 2

Judging by both the promotional art for the Baller, Bubble Blower, Flingza Roller; Autobomb; Splat Brella on their respective pages, and the leak[1] showing unreleased versions of the Flingza and Brella along with the Squeezer weapon with stickers matching or nearly matching the logos in the promotional images, there could be three new weapon brands in the game.

The "Foil" one seems like a dead giveaway that it's an unique, new brand; the seahorse logo on the brella (and the fish logo on the sorella variant), and the whale on the autobomb are less clear-cut though. Zorg (talk) 08:16, 9 September 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Split weapon brands into their own articles and merge 'Weapon brand' with main 'Brand' page

I feel like this article is getting quite long and is starting to lose some coherence from having to describe a number of different brands. It might be worth giving each weapon brand its own page and moving their subsection on this article over, then merging what's left of 'Weapon brand' into the 'Brand' page. This would allow each weapon brand to be discussed in greater depth, such as getting individual trivia sections. Any thoughts? Siphida (talk) 12:24, 3 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Additionally, 'Brand' already discusses weapons produced by companies that produce both gear and weapons, so there is precedence and overlap already in their contents. Siphida (talk) 12:29, 3 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Shame that no one commented until now. I agree on giving each brand its own page and add another table on the brand page with weapon brands. Some "weapon brands" make much more than just weapons that could be detailed in further detail. I could ask on Discord what people think about it. Islar74 (talk) 17:04, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sorry for the slow reply; I'd mostly forgotten that I posted this, but I still think that the changes that I wrote above would be good to implement and I am glad that you agree. Yeah, posting to the Discord and asking for more opinions would be good. Thank you! Siphida (talk) 13:08, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
have started to build pages for the individual weapons brands in my sandbox. Feel free to check them out and give some feedback; they're a little rough at the moment, but I think they're good starts. Siphida (talk) 16:56, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Looks good, although if I were to change something, taking Splat as an example, I would leave the "Splat" (Japanese: スプラ Supura) is a brand within Splatoon and Splatoon 2 which manufactures main, sub and special weapons. on top of the page, and the rest under a heading titled discription or the like. That's just enough information to give the reader an idea what the page is about so they can decide wether or not to read the page, and it looks better IMO. Islar74 (talk) 21:35, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
About the opinion on Discord, since they aren't explicitly named by Nintendo, they should be on one page. But then someone made a good point why they could get their own pages. I also feel like we can use those pages to show in which stage these brands are advertised. At the end of the day, it's just to make the reader more knowledgeable. Islar74 (talk) 21:35, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just make sure to clearly indicate which brand names are just guesses. And don't have a "names in other languages", it would be inappropriate to have what are essentially guesses in other languages.Heddy (talk) 21:49, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Tenta Missiles should be under the Splat brand

It is very likely that Tenta Missiles are made by Splat in a collaboration with that brand that appears on bending machines in Inkopolis Plaza and Streestyle Cap. Many things indicate so, like launchers having a green-lime color, and the labels on the comparments that aslo appear on the Instrike and Inkzooka. Adding missing weapon redesigns

Since some Weapons from the previous games got redesigns in Splatoon 3, some of them (Mainly the Splat-Pro, .52 Gal, H-3, Carbon, Splatterscope, E-liter 4K Scope, Blaster, Rapid, Rapid Pro, Slosher, Sloshing Machine and Mini) are missing images of their new designs, as SRL didn't post any. I have tried doing this myself with their in-game icons, but the images didn't line up with the others. Is there a way to add them correctly? Sincerely, P.J. I think that in article page it's better to just use official promotional images and no in-game icons, with the exception of Splatoon 1 sub and special weapons, nor fan made promotional renders. If a main, sub or special weapons don't have a updated promotional render because of the abscence of the weapon in the game or because there is no new official promotion render, then it should be left with its more recent promtional render. For example Kelp Splatcherger should be left with S1 render and the vanilla Splatcharger that doesn't have a new render should be left with its S2 render. Also the Splatoon 3 Kraken should have separate images. Andrea (talk) 21:37, 18 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Possible official name for "Shark Fins"?

The Art of Splatoon 3 has a section on the Tacticooler on page 106 featuring an informational blurb. It states that the Tacticooler is a collaboration with the drink manufacturer "Gabatoru (ガバトル)", with the logo on the weapon—the Shark Fins logo—attributed to said manufacturer. Is Splat brella's brand Foil or Sorella ?

I see the Foil logo on the handle on the Splat brella in splatoon 3, however the promotional image shows the logo of Sorella. Maybe it's a collab like the ultra stamp(?) Is there any information about this ? Somon (talk) 15:22, 4 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sorella, the promotional render has it in the bottom corner. Moraytowersforsplatoon3 (talk) 06:53, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is it okay to change the promo renders of the weapons to their 3D icons?

I had been wondering about this question for a long time. Rat L. Boy's sandbox shows the 3D icons instead of promo renders for a bit of them. Is it okay to change them, or I have to keep it the way it is? Some icons have their 3D icons because there are no promotional renders for that weapon. The Salmonid Army weapon brand

Should it be included? It technically does make weapons, but only for the Salmonids. There are various places where the player can see the brand. Those include the helmets that Chinooks wear, certain frying pans of the Chum and Cohocks, the hatch of the Slammin' Lid, the Mothership, the spoon of the Smallfry, the bombs that Steelheads make, the Big Shot's cannonball launcher, the head of the Steel Eel... the "foil" brand

Chinese and Korean "foil" should be added, they are still N/A on the table thing right? Redderder (talk) 11:25, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
