Template talk:Birthday

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki

BASEPAGENAME-dependent gender

Is it okay to change pronoun to use BASEPAGENAME-based one?

It's something like this:

{{gender:{{BASEPAGENAME}}|his|her|their}}

I mean, look at "preferences" on top right, and see "they edit wiki pages" or something like that.

It's taken from the TF2 Wiki, if you're wondering. See here. Exaskliri (talk) 16:04, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, go ahead, I don't see any issues with that Fumple (talk) 21:21, 28 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Does that mean you can only use one of the three (their/her/his) pronouns in the template? Because if so, I personally like it better now, as people with neopronouns can easily just write them in. Unless what you're suggesting also allows people to write what their want as the possessive pronoun, but I don't know why you'd suggest the change in this case?

We could make it so the template automatically determines the pronoun using the change suggested by Exaskliri, but then allow users to override the determined pronoun, by putting their pronoun in the template call like they do right now. Fumple (talk) 07:21, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If that's possible then it's OK with me!
