Rename

Pedantically, I would like to rename this template to be clear instead of clr. This makes the template's purpose a bit, well, clearer as well as is more in-line as to how other wikis treat templates of this nature, making our site easier to use. I can handle renames and replacements and whatnot pretty easily, but I want to know what the community thinks first. Trig - 20:03, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sounds like a good idea to me. Would we want to change {{clrns}} as well? FancyRat 20:09, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
yeah probably. Trig - 21:15, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Any suggestions on what the new name for Clrns could be? It's moon [Talk!] 18:48, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I suggest {{clear noscript}} because the proposed change is to use the full word for clear. We might as well use the full "noscript" as well. The template uses a CSS class titled "noscript", so we know for certain that "ns" means "noscript". Heddy (talk) 19:21, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sure, not like +2 letters is gonna make it unfathomably long or anything. No idea what the "ns" stands for in that other version FancyRat mentioned, though

If memory serves—"no script" as in no JavaScript. Not 100% sure why that'd be needed for one over the other to be honest. Trig - 22:57, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
GuyPerfect created Clrns for non-gobbled infoboxes (infoboxes appear non-gobbled when JS is turned off), to keep them from flowing into the next section. Heddy (talk) 03:23, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I honestly like the shortness of typing {{Clr}} but it wouldn't be a big deal to me to type two extra letters so I'm not againist it either. Imo it would b cool to keep Clr as a redirect / shortcut so both versions could be used. It's moon [Talk!] 18:47, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
+1 for it being renamed. I've forgotten the name of this template a couple of times. It being called 'clear' would be much better. Cackle (talk) 21:18, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
