Aight, I'm creating my sandbox now to slowly but surely work on the future Salmon Run tips page(s), as it was suggested by several people including staff on Discord. With my current busyness, it may take quite some time, but I still don't wanna give up on this, as I really care about Salmon Run for some reason. Tho, I need to sort everything out first.

A few questions to myself:

  • Should I create one page for all the tips, or several pages, one for each Known Occurrence?
    • Should I include normal waves with no occurences and different tides? I feel like I should put a use to some basic tips for SR in general somewhere.
  • Should I include tips for weapons? Because some of them are very unique and outstanding compared to the other ones, and most of them have different roles in Salmon Run.
    • And if so, should the weapon tips have a separate page?
  • How to even format all these tips? Similarly to weapons competitive pages? Use some sort of sheets instead? I think I'll need lots of help with this.

Feel free to leave any comments on this Sandbox talk page if you have any ideas, by the way. I always appreciate having a talk. Here goes a really rough draft:

General tips

The most basic tips for playing Salmon Run Next Wave, I'll include basic info about luring bosses, collecting eggs close to the basket, etc.

Weapon tips

Most weapons in Salmon Run Next Wave have their damage increased, which is why it is recommended to test each one of them in the Grizzco training area. It is important to understand the weight, ink efficiency and damage output of each given weapon during the rotation. All of the weapons damage ammount is documented on the respective weapons pages.

  • Player should keep in mind that the training dummies represent different Salmonids, which can be indicated by their size and stickers, and that the dummy representing a Steelhead is located at the same height as the Steelhead's weak point. This can help the player to understand their current weapon more.

Main weapons

While most of the weapons are relatively straightforward with their roles, some weapons standout among the others due to their unique traits.

Weapon Unique traits
Shooters
S3 Weapon Main Sploosh-o-matic.png Sploosh-o-matic • Sploosh-o-matic has a very short range but deals big damage per second, making it great against Cohozuna and Megalodontia, as well as Horrorboros if the player can position themself high enough to reach its bomb.
S3 Weapon Main Splattershot Jr..png Splattershot Jr. • Splattershot Jr. does not have its usual 110% capacity ink tank during the shifts.
Rollers
• All rollers except Carbon Roller are able to crush Chums.
• All rollers are able to crush Smallfries and Stingers' pots. It is recommended to roll in circle touching the pots to crush them faster.
• All rollers are able to crush Chums during Rush and can deal consistent crush damage to Goldies during Goldie Seeking, making them the most crucial weapons during the said Known Occurrences.
• Rollers' crushing power is independent of the rolling speed, making it more favored to roll forward as slowly as possible in order to cosnume less ink and keep the stationary position. Staying still is not recommended, as this will cause the Roller user to be bounced back by Salmonids.
S3 Weapon Main Dynamo Roller.png Dynamo Roller • Due to its highly increased crushing power that deals 400 damage while rolling, Dynamo Roller is able to crush all lesser Salmonids including Cohocks, making it extremely powerful during the Known Occurences that features them.
• If the Dynamo Roller player manages to deal rolling damage to a Griller's tail, the first hit will stun it and the second hit will defeat it.
Chargers
• All chargers except Bamboozler and Snipewriter 5H are able to pierce shot through unarmored Salmonids.
• Bamboozler, Goo Tuber, and Snipewriter 5H are able to destroy Stinger's pots with their tap shots.
S3 Weapon Main E-liter 4K.png E-liter 4K • Due to its high power, E-liter 4K is able to one-shot all lesser Salmonids, Steelhead, Steel Eel, Scrapper, Slammin' Lid, and Goldie during Rush and Fog.
Because of that, E-liter 4K is able to easily clear the groups of Cohocks coming from the Golden Mudmouths during Mudmouth Eruptions.
• It is able to two-shot a Drizzler (which can be defeated by E-Liter 4K in a single session if timed right), Maws, an armored Flipper-Flopper, and Big Shot.
• A fully charged shot from E-liter 4K will stun a Griller.
Sloshers
S3 Weapon Main Sloshing Machine.png Sloshing Machine • Sloshing Machine's splash damage is 100, meaning that it one shots Smallfries and Chums without having to aim at them directly. Aiming above the said Salmonids will splat multiple of them in one slosh.
• Sloshing Machine is able to two-shot a Fish Stick from below by aiming inside the Smallfries circle against their movement direction so the projectile's splashing area touches them but doesn't hit them directly.
S3 Weapon Main Explosher.png Explosher • Explosher has a unique ability to deal an explosive damage with its projectiles and therefore is able to deal damage to the Flyfish baskets and Mudmouths.
• Explosher's projectiles can also pierce through lesser Salmonids and some of the Boss Salmonids.
• Explosher is excellent for inking big chunks of walls at once.
Splatlings
• All Splatlings have an outstanding damage per second, making them very effective against all King Salmonids.
Dualies
S3 Weapon Main Dapple Dualies.png Dapple Dualies • Dapple Dualies have a very short range but deal big damage per second in the turett mode, making them great against Cohozuna and Megalodontia, as well as Horrorboros if the player can position themself high enough to reach its bomb.
Brellas
• All brellas are able to crush Chums during Rush and can deal consistent crush damage to Goldies during Goldie Seeking.
Blasters
• It is recommended for the blaster players to try hitting as many Salmonids with the splash damage as possible when shooting at the target. Luna Blaster and S-BLAST '92 in the jump mode are the best in this due to their large burst radius.
During Rush, Chums can be splatted by the blasters' bursts, which is why it is recommended to aim at the side of the stream of Salmonids, rather than the front of it.
Due to the burst damage, blasters are very effective against Fish Sticks.
S3 Weapon Main S-BLAST '92.png S-BLAST '92 • S-BLAST '92 is able to one-shot a Steelhead with a direct hit.
• Unlike the other blasters, S-BLAST '92's grounded mode isn't effective against Fish Sticks due to the small burst radius of the projectiles. An S-BLAST user has to reach it with a jump mode instead, either by climbing a Fish Stick or from a near elevation.
Brushes
• Due to the brushes' wide range, during Rush, it is recommended to aim at the side of the stream of Chums, rather than the front of it.
• For the same reason, brushes make excellent weapons for cleaning Smallfries during Grizzlers and Mudmouth Eruptions.
• It is recommended to take advantage of the brushes' speed and agility to quickly move around the stage to collect the eggs and revive the splatted allies if needed.
Stringers
S3 Weapon Main Tri-Stringer.png Tri-Stringer • When hitting the target with all three fully charged projectiles, Tri-Stringer is able to one-shot Cohocks and Steelheads, as well as stun Grillers.
Splatanas
S3 Weapon Main Splatana Stamper.png Splatana Stamper • With the direct charged hit, Splatana Stamper is able to one-shot Cohocks and Steelheads, as well as stun Grillers.
• If a Salmonid was damaged by the direct charged hit, Splatana Stamper's projectile will pierce through it and hit the following Salmonid.
Rare weapons
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Blaster.png Grizzco Blaster • Due to its fast rate of fire and low ink consumption, Grizzco Blaster is great at cleaning lesser Salmonids and Boss Salmonids with low HP. However, its damage per second is not that great against Salmonids with high HP, such as Big Shot.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Brella.png Grizzco Brella • Grizzco Brella is great at inking the ground, walls, and Flipper-Flopper zones, as well as cleaning Chums, Smallfries, and Fish Sticks. However, the player must be careful when engaging the fights against Salmonids with mid to high HP due to the weapon's low damage per second.
Player must keep in mind that the closer they are to the target, the more projectiles will hit it, dealing more damage to it.
• Grizzco Brella has no canopy shield and acts more like a shooter with wide-spread spray-like projectiles, rather than a typical brella.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Charger.png Grizzco Charger • Grizzco Charger has the longest range among all chargers.
• It charges instantly but cannot store a charge. Tap-shooting with it will act like shooting with a full charge.
• Grizzco Charger can splat an armored Flipper-Flopper and a Big Shot in 6 hits.
• Grizzco Charger has exactly 7 shots with a full ink tank. It is recommended having at least one shot in case of emergency.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Slosher.png Grizzco Slosher • Grizzco Slosher's shots are able to pierce through Salmonids and the Boss Salmonids armor.
Grizzco Slosher can defeat a Steelhead in 4 shots if aimed at any part of its body.
It can defeat a Flyfish in a single shot if aimed at the pilot.
It can defeat a Drizzler in 3 shots even while it's under its umbrella.
It can defeat Stinger in one shot if the player stands under the Stinger and fires upwards so the Grizzco Slosher projectile's spinning part hits the pots.
It can defeat Mudmouth in 3 shots if aimed inside the lower part of its mouth.
• The weapon's projectiles aren't affected by gravity and will fly at the straight line for some time before falling down rapidly.
• Grizzco Slosher has exactly 4 shots with a full ink tank and takes some time to start refilling the ink after firing a shot. It is recommended having at least one shot in case of emergency.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Stringer.png Grizzco Stringer • While being able to deal chip damage from afar, hitting as many fully charged projectiles as possible upclose makes Grizzco Stringer the strongest weapon in the game, reaching a total of 1350 base damage.
This makes Grizzco Stringer an excelent weapon against King Salmonids, as their large size oftenly allows all 9 projectiles to hit them even from afar.
Hitting Maws, an armored Flipper-Flopper, or Big Shot with at least 8 charged shots will one-shot them. Hitting at least 3 charged shots will stun a Griller.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Splatana.png Grizzco Splatana • Grizzco Splatana's 1200 damage per charged hit is able to instantly one-shot any Boss Salmonid except Fish Stick, as well as stun a Griller and two-shot it in total. However, the player must keep in mind the long charging time, as well as the long cooldown after the hit was performed.
• The weapon's charged hits are able to pierce through the Boss Salmonids armor.
• Despite the short range, Grizzco Splatana can sometimes reach Flyfish's pilot midjump.
• While the weapon's long forward dash can be helpful, jumping while performing a hit can prevent the player from an unwanted dash.
• While the weapon has only 6 charged shots with a full ink tank, its ink efficiency is much higher when tap-swinging.
The tap-swings are able to two-shot Cohocks and are wide enough to damage several Salmonids at once, which makes Grizzco Splatana great at cleaning lesser Salmonids and splatting Fish Stick when standing on top of it.
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Dualies.png Grizzco Dualies • Grizzco Dualies' range is extremely short in regular mode but becomes much longer in the turett mode.
• The dualies are able to perform 9 dashes in a row, with each dash dealing 100 splash damage to the surrounding Salmonids, which makes them great at cleaning the lesser Salmonids. After that, the player will have a small ammount of ink left for shooting.
However, the player should keep in mind that dashing towards the stream of Salmonids during Rush can result getting splatted, as crushing into them will instantly damage the player.
• Grizzco Dualies' burst damage can one-shot Fish Stick when dashed from the top of it. They can also break the Flyfish's baskets if the player manages to perform a dash right above the open basket.
