We were messing about, outside of the square. Basics laughed at me, she knew me so well. Her laugh enough to make me laugh too. Her gear was the Golden Toothpick, the Friend tee and clownfish basics. "Wanna go to the shop?" She asked, her blue eyes shining. I tagged along. She looked about for ice cream. I still could not read inkling. "Mint? It's my favourite!" She squealed. She got out her cash and paid for us. Then we stepped out on the pavement. Basics jumped out when cyclist crashed into her. I heard a blood-curdling scream. She lay lifeless, I lay down next to her. Ink was everywhere. The cyclist ran off, guilty. I took a closer look. Her leg was twisted the wrong way, her body limp, the cyclist had hit her hard. Sheldon ran out. "Oh Cod, what happened!?" He screamed, while I told him about everything. I held Basics' hand. "Please be okay, Basics. Remember everything? You cannot leave me now!" She mumbled in agony, her arm marked with the tyres. Sheldon called for help. I lifted her off the pavement and brought her inside. The sickly smell of the sweets and the Squid sisters made me feel sick. "Yeah now you gotta hear our song!" I usually loved the Inkantation, but I was not in the mood. I used the payphone to get help. I thought that she would survive. She usually comedic and funny, but I felt the opposite.
