User:Trig Jegman/Single-player campaign updates
A lot of the content presentation for single-player stages has been significantly overhauled and needs to be implemented across the rest of the site. Most of this applies only to Octo Valley, Octo Canyon, and Return of the Mammalians—Octo Expansion still has some StrategyWiki logistical work before they are to be edited.
There are multiple major steps when reviewing a page to ensure they are properly updated:
Step 1
- Remove walkthrough sections (verify they have been added to StrategyWiki). If they still need to be, do not do anything to these pages.
- Merge walkthrough images into gallery. Combine duplicate images and flag the rest for deletion. Make sure the main stage gimmick is still able to be seen. We also don't need every single sign with text on it in there, so some of those can be removed as well.
Step 2
- Remove "Previously Introduced", enemy tables, and other stage documentation, replacing it with Template:Stage elements and Template:Stage elements/row. Change the "walkthrough" header to "Stage summary".
- Under "stage summary", write a brief paragraph description of the stage and its core mechanics, or major landmarks.
Step 3
Unlike the prior two steps, this can be handled at any time, which means people looking for an easier task to do could start here by only handling this segment.
- Combine the Strategywiki template, Youtube embed, and add the speedrun.com individual level time to a new external links section with Template:External links. Don't forget to mark twitch=no.
- Any other needed formatting tweaks/changes.
Other arguments
I'm pretty sure the last page directly handled was Inkvisible Avenues. Floating Sponge Garden and Unidentified Flying Object serve as good benchmarks for what all needs to be changed simultaneously.
