Inkipedia:Twitter archive

This is the new home base for all Twitter posts. The primary template (Template:TYA) has a list of all years, and months corresponding for each year. Tweets shall be split by pages per month, with level 2 headers per day of the month. An example of what a page should relatively look like is this.

Template:Twitter archive

All tweets are to use the new Twitter archive template, which creates a box to represent roughly what the tweet looks like. The full information is listed in the template documentation, but here is a rough skeleton for most tweets:
{{Twitter archive
|pfp=
|displayname=
|username=
|content=
|image=
|date=
|original=
}}

Some tweets may have up to four images, where extra parameters image2=, image3=, and image4= fall into place. Others may use a video instead, where video= can be used. Tweets that are replying to others, or are quote retweeting should use replyname= with the account they are replying to. Content should be a 1:1 text copy and paste—make no alterations! Leave all errors as is.

For date formatting, use Month (written) Day, Year. For example, today is July 4, 2023. Do not add "th" or "st" type of embellishments to numbers (ie the 4th, the 2nd).

There are several presaved profile options available for ease of use:

  • srl (Squid research lab, for SplatoonJP and SplatoonNA)
  • nintendo (Any Nintendo account)
  • oatmealdome (Resource)
  • rassicas (Translation)
  • leanyoshi (Resources)

How to convert to archive

  1. Open up the original tweet and locate the date it was posted
  2. Find the corresponding year and month page, then the correct day header. This is where your tweet box will go! Don't worry about the order of tweets within the same day, that will be taken care of later once all tweets have been archived.
  3. Using the {{Twitter archive}} template, add the tweet in to the page. If you need to upload more content, see below for greater assistance.
  4. Return to where the page(s) where a twitter link was, and instead point it to the page you are on for the day the tweet was posted. For example, a link to twitter for a December 29, 2017 post will be changed from twitter.com to [<nowiki>[Inkipedia:Twitter archive/2017/December#December 29|<username> on Twitter]]. This ensures that people who need to see this tweet will always see it to some capacity–if they want to compare with the original, we take care of it in the template.

New files

Some tweets may need new content uploaded to Inkipedia. This may be because of a new profile image or because we only reference the text on the tweet, not the images. We still want to preserve these as well. They should be uploaded with the following file template layout:
{{File
|description=<describe the file>
|source=<same as above links, link to the day header; Link directly to twitter for profile images>
}}
[[Category:Internet archive files]]

Some files may also benefit from being added to pages, if so the standard procedure of adding game=/type= applies. Just make sure there aren't duplicate files being added!
