After the announcement of the Grass vs. Fire vs. Water Splatfest, Ashley was curious to know what Pokémon means. At first, the Squid Sisters were hesitant on explaining it to her, but after a bit of convincing from Gerald, they finally agreed.

Explanation

A world is basically like a planet. For example, for Pokémon, there is a planet (world) where the characters from Pokémon can be and do whatever they want. There is a world for every single video game, TV show, and movie ever created. Other worlds can visit each other, however, horror worlds cannot visit any other world other than another horror world. Other worlds also cannot visit horror worlds. In Splatoon 3, to access other worlds, one has to go beyond the outer Splatlands desert in Inkadia. Once past this desert, there is a white wall, separating Splatoon from the other worlds. Upon entering this wall, you will be transported to a big circular room with different colored launchpads. The launchpads are labeled: Disney, Nintendo, Marvel, DC, Nickelodeon, and Star Wars. Outside the circle, there is launchpad labeled The Real World. The Real World is where humans live in real life and where new worlds are created. Other worlds don't visit The Real World very often, unless there is a situation that needs other worlds to intervene. The reason they don't visit often is to hide their existence. Entering one of the launchpads in the circle, like Nintendo, will bring you to another circular room. In here, there will be even more launchpads, labeled with anything that was created by Nintendo. Entering any of these will take you to that world. For example, entering the launchpad labeled The Legend of Zelda will take you to The Legend of Zelda World. Some have even more launchpads because many installments have been made.

Pokémon World

The Pokémon World is the first world that Ashley and Gerald go to. After the announcement of the Grass vs. Fire vs. Water Splatfest, Ashley was doing her routine patrolling in Alterna when she got three unusual signals coming from three different kettles. Upon investigating them, she found a Sprigatito in Absorbency and You, a Fuecoco in Twirling, Swirling, Whirling, and a Quaxly in Trouble Round Every Corner. After rescuing the Pokémon, Ashley was told by the Squid Sisters that they must be returned to their world. No one has ever tried journeying beyond the outer Splatlands desert, so the members of Deep Cut help the duo out. The Squid Sisters tell Ashley that she has six days to get to the Pokémon World, so Ashley, Gerald, and the three Pokémon start their journey. After three days of journey, they finally reach the white wall. They enter the launchpad labeled Nintendo, and from there they enter the launchpad labeled Pokémon. They land in another circular room, and Ashley has no idea where to go. She reads all the launchpads and comes across one labeled Kanto. They enter, and are brought to the Kanto Region. They run into Red, where he challenges each of "Ashley's" Pokémon to fight his Pokémon. Sprigatito fights Squirtle, Fuecoco fights Bulbasaur, and Quaxly fights Charmander. All of Ashley's Pokémon defeat Red's Pokémon, and he asks who she is. She tells him that she came here to return her three Pokémon. For the next two days, Red shows Ashley around all of the regions. Then, Professor Oak alerts the region that Pikachu and Eevee have been stolen from the world. Ashley gets a message from Callie saying that something is happening to the rocket in Alterna. Ashley and Red return to the Splatoon World, where they find out that Pikachu and Eevee were stolen by Mr. Grizz. Ashley and Red go through the Alterna Space Center and defeat Mr. Grizz and rescue Pikachu and Eevee. After the battle, Red was so impressed with Ashley's skills that he allowed her to keep Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly until the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. During the first half of the Splatfest, Sprigatito rode on Shiver's float, Fuecoco rode on Frye's float, and Quaxly rode on Big Man's float. During the second half, Red and his three Starter Pokémon cheered on the three teams on the stage, along with Ashley and her three Pokémon. Before Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly left to go to their world, they gave Ashley three keychains that they made (with the help of Off the Hook). The front has the team icons for the Splatfest and the back has a silhouette of the three Pokémon and is the color of the type in the Paldea Pokédex.

The Legend of Zelda World

After the announcement of the Power vs. Wisdom vs. Courage Splatfest, Ashley was doing some Turf War battles when Frye tells her that there is something strange going on in Alterna. Ashley goes to Alterna and notices three signals coming from three different kettles. Upon entering each kettle, she finds Ganondorf in Low Viz, High Risk, Zelda in The String's the Thing, and Link in Stamp 'Em Out. Ashley sees that all three have been injured and are missing their piece of the Triforce. A Great Fairy tells Ashley that they need to see the three Golden Goddesses individually. So Ashley, Gerald, and the trio take a three day journey to the outer Splatlands desert. She first takes Ganondorf to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time World. Once there, she goes to Dodongo's Cavern where she defeats King Dodongo, who is protecting Din. Impressed with Ashley's skills, she gives her Din's Fire to help her. After this, Ganondorf receives the Triforce of Power. They return to the Splatoon World, and Ashley takes Zelda to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time World. Once there, she goes to Lord Jabu-Jabu. She gets swallowed by him and defeats Barinade, who is protecting Nayru. Impressed with Ashley's skills, she gives her Nayru's Love to help her. After this, Zelda receives the Triforce of Wisdom. They return to the Splatoon World, and Ashley takes Link to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time World. Once there, she goes to the Great Deku Tree, where she defeats Gohma, who is protecting Farore. Impressed with Ashley's skills, she gives her Farore's Wind to help her. After this, Link receives the Triforce of Courage. All of this took three days. Just before returning to the Splatoon World, Ashley runs into Phantom Ganon. Using the three Goddesses powers, she defeats Phantom Ganon. After the battle, the three Goddesses tell Ashley that Ganondorf, Zelda, and Link can stay with her until after the Splatfest is over. During the first half of the Splatfest in Splatsville. Ganondorf rode on Shiver's float, Zelda rode on Frye's float, and Link rode on Big Man's float. In Inkopolis Plaza, The Din Statue sat on top of the fox statue, The Nayru Statue sat on top of the tanuki statue, and The Farore Statue sat on top of Inkopolis Tower. During the second half of the Splatfest, Ganondorf, Zelda, Link, Din, Nayru, and Farore cheer on their teams on the stage in Splatsville. Hanging from the stage where Ashley and the Great Fairy stand are the three Pendants of Virtue and the Triforce hangs above Deep Cut. The statues remain in Inkopolis Plaza during the second half. Before Ganondorf, Zelda, and Link had to leave to their world, they each gave Ashley a keychain. The front is their section of the Triforce, which are colored in their Splatfest ink color and the back has their Goddess Mark, which are colored in the Goddesses official colors.

Trivia

General

  • "world" by itself is not capitalized, as it can mean any world. "World" after a movie, TV show, or video game is capitalized, as it refers to a specific world. For example, the Splatoon World.
  • When travelling to a different world, Ashley and Gerald are the ones to leave while the other members of the New Squidbeak Splatoon stay in the Splatoon World to help Ashley traverse through the world.
  • When Ashley visited the Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda World, she was in her Splatfest outfit, due to visiting these worlds during the Splatfest Sneak Peek.

Pokémon World

  • When rescuing the Pokémon, Ashley used the weapons that were also used for the official Splatfest art:
  • The Pokémon that follow the members of Deep Cut mirror their choices for the Splatfest:
    • Sprigatito is a Grass type, which Shiver chose.
    • Fuecoco is a Fire type, which Frye chose.
    • Quaxly is a Water type, which Big Man chose.
  • During the fight against Red, the order in which Ashley's Pokémon fought Red's references their type effectiveness. For example, Sprigatito fighting Charmander references how Grass types are strong against Fire types.
  • Both Pikachu and Eevee getting stolen may be because they are famous Pokémon and are the game mascots of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.
