Inside the Deepsea Metro Car

Hey, I see on the Calamari Inkanatation page that you've changed the title for one part from Inside the Deepsea Metro Car to Inside the Deepsea metro car. However that's actually the name of the track according to Octotune, not just a conjectural name. KingAwesome467 (talk) 21:40, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Ah, I probably should have done a bit more research first! Sorry about the inaccuracy, and thanks for letting me know and changing it back! GloverMist (talk) 21:46, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
No problem KingAwesome467 (talk) 21:52, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

I would like a Inside the Deepsea Metro Car audio file in here. Anyone with me? ToadLover9001 (talk) 20:24, 1 June 2020 (UTC)ToadLover9001

What's your reasoning for changing Splatoon's to Splatoon's, which I see on several pages? Doesn't that look alot uglier?  KA467 🗩 🖿   16:07, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

The only reason I do that is because the apostrophe-S isn't part of the game name, just a suffix to it, and therefore shouldn't technically be enclosed in the square brackets or be italicised. I guess it's a matter of preference, though, I'm not sure if there's a right or wrong way to do it. I have seen similar done elsewhere, but ironically can't find any examples right away! If you do think this is a problem, though, I can change it. GloverMist (talk) 16:16, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Well, it's not like it's my decision to make, I'll ask the Discord for opinions.  KA467 🗩 🖿   18:02, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

The use in template Explain

I've seen you used template Explain/tt which is a bit problematic.
That template does not work on mobile devices. For this reason, please avoid using this template. Instead, consider using footnotes. Footnotes can be created using the note and note list templates.
So might wanna undo the changes you did to FTWin page so that mobile readers can read those notes too. ShaharSig2.pngShaharSigtalk2.png 07:07, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

Ah, that makes perfect sense! In fact, that's why I mentioned that it may need changing back on the FTWin page, but I wasn't sure then. Thanks for clarifying and I'll undo that change I made! GloverMist (talk) 07:29, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

Quality options for images from Twitter

Thanks for uploading the result image for Kid vs. Grown-Up! However, I was batch uploading the results images for all three regions' recent Splatfests; and I uploaded the EU one in a way that should have flagged it as a duplicate to your image. That would have allowed me to rename your file for consistency (...Wins.jpg ->

However, the system did not recognize my upload as a duplicate, due to the fact you unknowingly uploaded the lower-quality file.

You see, When a user uploads an image to Twitter, it automatically gets converted to various sizes (and lower quality) for thumbnails, mobile version, etc. However, it is possible to access the original image size (which is still compressed compared to the REAL original image, but it's the best we can access), the following way.

Let's take the victory Tweet for Kid vs. Grown-Up:
If you right-click on the image to get its URL, you will get
(or the same path with some suffix, such as :large). Note its resolution is 1200x600.
Now add the suffix :orig for ORIGinal after the .jpg:
This will give you access to the highest-resolution version of the file. Note its resolution is 2000x1000.

Thanks again for the help, and hope this helps with future uploads!

- Inkrid (talk) 13:11, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Ah, no problem at all! I understand what you mean, so thank you for explaining it - I'll definitely bear that in mind in the future! GloverMist (talk) 13:19, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Patroller rights

Hi, your edits are numerous and high quality, so you've been given patroller rights. This means that your edits won't be reviewed ("patrolled") by Inkipedia staff anymore because you are trusted and experienced. You get access to the patrolling tools for reviewing the quality of others' edits, and the rollback tool for reverting vandalism. Use of these tools is optional. It looks like you have already filled in your details at Template:Patrollerlist, which shows up on the staff page and patroller page. By the way, I somehow thought I already did this patrolling ritual 12 months ago but it seems I haven't, so here are the rights. Let me know if you have any questions. How To Create a Page For Songs In Game?

I saw that there are some songs from the game that don’t have their own page yet. Is there a specific info box for it as I’m thinking about making one for the “Girl From Inkopolis” song by Turquoise October.

{WoomyWa} (talk) 17:18, 24 July 2019 (UTC)WoomyWa

Hi there! There isn't a specific info box, per se, but there is a specific way of creating one for the music pages. If you're stuck and don't know where to start, I'd recommend looking into the coding of a specific Turquoise October song page and see how that was created - possibly even copy and paste it to use as a base. Octo Eight-Step is a good example of this, so try that out!
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! GloverMist (talk) 19:46, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

How do you put in audio files? ToadLover9001 (talk) 21:36, 4 June 2020 (UTC)ToadLover9001

You can find the ‘upload file’ link towards the bottom of the left-hand sidebar, and this’ll let you do it. Although there are limits on what you van upload and we’re currently discussing what to do with long sound clips, so I’d hold off on uploading anything for now. Likely sockpuppet

I'm holding reasonable suspicion over the newly created account for Muc-Mhara64, who joined today shortly after you gave Pikachucet a warning about removing the quote on Marina's page, removed the quote on Marina's page, and tried to argue about it on the talk page using the exact same logic as Pikachucet. Perhaps this is a different person, but given the circumstances, it seems entirely unlikely that a random person would show up with the exact same stance as another user on an extremely specific issue, and exhibit the exact same mannerisms as said user in an attempt to pursue their argument, especially an hour and a half after said user gets a warning from an administrator. If you could look into this, it would be heavily appreciated! Thanks! ShinyCelesteela (talk) 18:50, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

I suppose this is what I get for trying to help? Pikachucet thinks I'm a sockpuppet of you! 20:01 31st of July 2019 blah blah blah I don't care
Wow, you know exactly what Pikachucet thinks? Impressive! It's almost like you're the same person! ShinyCelesteela (talk) 19:06, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Dinnae pin yer bot on me! How about I leave you alone if you also leave ME alone and also agree tae have no quote! That's the only way anythings gonna stop! User:Pikachucet 31, July 2019 (UTC)
To everyone in this conversation: I'm going to weigh up the evidence, bring this to the attention of some other admins who are more experienced than me, and get back to you. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Regardless of whether there is sock-puppetry going on or not, arguing across multiple pages is also not productive to the running of the wiki, so, again, I hope this can be resolved in a civil way. Our multiple accounts policy is very clear on the rules surrounding this, if it is occurring. I sincerely hope this isn't the case, as I don't want to incur a block or anything in my second week of adminship. GloverMist (talk) 19:27, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Another likely sockpuppet

Apologies about putting you through this again, but it appears we have another case of more or less the same thing. Shortly after InklingFixer was blocked, an account named コロ流行 showed up and modified their userpage to be the exact same as InklingFixer's, username and all. Feel free to investigate this as you will. Thank you. ShinyCelesteela (talk) 12:44, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

No problem, I hadn't noticed, so thank you for letting me know! Very bizarre that this is becoming a more regular thing all of a sudden. I'll send them a message and forward this on to some of the other admins. Thank you for your help! GloverMist (talk) 13:04, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Are Pages Needed for The Splatoon Manga Characters?

Someone has made a page for the character Goggles from the Splatoon manga. Is that okay? If so, could other pages be made for the other characters in the manga (only the ones that play a notable role in the story).

{WoomyWa} (talk) 18:32, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Woomywa

Yeah, a group had a discussion about this a short while ago and decided the manga needed a little more representation, so it's now been added to the side bar and work's being done on other pages. Goggles needs a little more detail, but as long as any pages well maintained, relevant, and notable enough, then it will all be appreciated! Feel free to help out as much as you want! GloverMist (talk) 22:20, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Sounds good. :) I'll expand his page and make some for the others.

Hey there, I noticed all the neat categories for Pearl fans and female users and things like that, and was wondering how to add myself to them?? I tried looking at the source of your userpage but couldn’t figure it out ^^; sorry, I’m kinda inexperienced when it comes to wiki code and stuff! 〜SplatterskytalkS2 Icon Pearl 2.png

Ah, of course I can help! The categories are automatically added based on the tag boxes you make for the bottom of the page - for example, you’re already marked under “Female Users”.
As for Pearl, a new template was created yesterday that will do that. I see your current code reads Pearl fan, so if you change it to Pearl, that should add the “Pearl fans” category to your page. Just swap out Pearl’s name for any other artist you want to add! And please don’t apologise for lack of experience, it’s fine! Hope this helps! GloverMist (talk) 07:50, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Do these pieces of Gear that this inkling girl is wearing exists in game?

(Namely the top and shoes)

{WoomyWa} (talk) 11:54, 3 September 2019 (UTC)Woomywa

I've had a look through the list of used gear, and as far as I'm aware, neither of them were used in the final game! The closest I could get to the clothing was the Sage Polo, but that's still quite different. Interesting find! GloverMist (talk) 13:00, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Um,CloverMist,I could actually identify the hat as | The Sporty Bobble Hat,just to let you know. The shoes and shirt are unclear to me. --💕💕💕SplatGeek💕💕💕 15:48, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi there! Thanks for that, but it appears previous editors already identified that one! As a side note, to link to our wiki pages the easy way, just type the page’s name between two square brackets and nothing else. For example, typing Sporty Bobble Hat results in Sporty Bobble Hat. Hope that helps! GloverMist (talk) 16:51, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

For some ungodly reason, Pearl’s name made the list for the 2019-2020 season this year. Again, idk why. All I can say is BOOYAH!! Also need to do more pages for the Splatoon manga characters. I plan to do one for Rider soon.

Your edit to was reverted

Please don’t remove important information. That notice is there to inform users that the manga reads backwards. --InklingFixer (talk) 23:07, 3 December 2019 (UTC)

Sorry, but this information is not really relevant for a file page and is also incorrect. Describing its reading orientation as an error in production is simply untrue, as right-to-left is standard in manga, especially native Japanese ones. Besides, with the screenshot being in Japanese, only speakers of the language will understand that anyway. Even without these factors, notices such as this are almost never placed on file pages due to them being very rarely seen by the average reader. I hope this helps. GloverMist (talk) 23:19, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
The plural for manga is mangas, not manga. --InklingFixer (talk) 00:53, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Of course I can help! Firstly, go to Preferences at the top of the page. Under the default ‘User profile’ section there’s a bit about signatures. In the box, type whatever you want using wikitext, then make sure the tickbox underneath is ticked before you save. You can put whatever you want in there, though if you need help, visit this page to learn how.
As the Preferences page states, you can save time when adding your sig to pages by simply typing ~~~~ with nothing else, and it’ll fill in for you! If you have any more questions, please do ask! GloverMist (talk) 16:51, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Thank you but I wanted to know how to change my signature's colour or put in emojis of weapons. --💕💕💕SplatGeek💕💕💕 17:06, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Oh, OK! Well, if you look on the help articles to find out how to do that stuff with normal text, then just include that in the ‘new signature’ box like I told you earlier! For reference, my sig is a darker green because I’m an admin. You can also read our signatures policy for more help, including that about images. Also, remember to indent your talk page replies with colons, like I’ve been doing! GloverMist (talk) 20:18, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

putting images on user pages

Hi, I'm new here and I need help with putting images on my user page. Can you help? <:= P.J. GT (talk) 15:01, 11 March 2020 (UTC)P.J. GTP.J. GT (talk) 15:01, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi there, and welcome to Inkipedia! Using images isn’t too hard, luckily. If you want to upload one, head to the ‘Upload File’ link towards the bottom of the side bar and follow the instructions there. When you want to add an image to a page, it’s generally as simple as typing something such as . You can also add things like its size in pixels, whether it includes a border, or what position on the page it should be - head to this page for all the help you could ever need, or use the two images at the top of my user page for examples!
As a side note, if you want to sign your name on any talk page, simply type ~~~~ at the end, and nothing else. It will add all the info for you! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. GloverMist (talk) 17:11, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

How can I undo edits? Because Inklingpro vandalized The Inklings page by lower-casing all the times Inkling is mentioned on the page and, I don't know how he bypassed the protect cause he's not an admin. Me and FLAME1232 tried fixing it but it canceled our edits because the page is protected. Please help. PS, Inklingpro is Inklingfixer who was blocked for copyright vandalizing. P.J. GT (talk) 23:51, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for raising this, I’ve sorted it out. The page isn’t admin locked, it’s locked to autoconfirmed users. These are users whose accounts have existed for a certain number of days and have made a certain number of edits, but I can’t tell you the specifics. If you can’t edit it, then keep on helping elsewhere until you can!
As for the multiple accounts thing, I mentioned this possibility with InklingPro a few months ago. Hard evidence is needed before we can draw a conclusion, however. Hope this all helps you! GloverMist (talk) 09:14, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! U R GR8! P.J. GT (talk) 13:45, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Inklingpro vandalized the Inklings page again! He lowercased Inkling again like last time. Block him! PS, His user page explicitly says Inkipedia is "anti-copyright" which is false and a red flag showing that he is the blocked user Inklingfixer who in the past, vandalized copyrights on images. This new user "Trig Jegman" is marking user images and file redirects for deletion as well as removing periods from image descriptions. (eg. view angles on gear pages. Possible vandal! Please fix. P.J. GT (talk) 20:55, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know about this. I don’t believe they’re being intentionally harmful - the full stop (or period) thing is a matter of stylistic choice between wikis, while the vast majority of the images tagged are duplicates or unneeded and so do probably need deleting. Thanks for keeping an eye out, though!
As a side note, if you want to start a new topic like this, just press the ‘add topic’ button at the top of the screen rather than adding on the bottom of an old discussion. GloverMist (talk) 21:25, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
He also marked the Octo Expansion Opening Poem and S1 Now or Never! ( S2 FinalFest) song files and the reason he put on is "copyright infringement" as well. PS. I will try to remember next time. P.J. GT (talk) 21:42, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Sandboxes? ...Why?!?

I'm quite confused by sandboxes. Can someone please explain the benefits to this and why it's FUN? Thanks in Advance! \/\/00|\/|¥*~($P|_@+|\|€R|]@G€|\|+4)~*\/€€|\/|0 (talk) 13:47, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

Sandboxes can be used for anything! In general, people who consistently work on large projects or major changes to the wiki create some form of a sandbox in their userspace to test what their proposed changes would look like and to be able to easily share it with others, without having to have it in the mainspace. I previously used mine to start writing the list of minor companies. In short, they're totally optional! GloverMist (talk) 16:21, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

How do I make my own Sandbox? I'd like to make one to detail my personal Splatoon canon. Can you help? P.J. GT (talk) 19:48, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Of course! It's literally as simple as making a new page with the title including the word 'sandbox' in it. For example, mine is User:GloverMist/Sandbox, so yours would likely be similar. Hope this helps! GloverMist (talk) 19:59, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll make mine once I get my new tablet on Saturday. I need to take pictures of my characters in their team Ink colors soon.
PS, do I need to put a link on my User Page with it? P.J. GT (talk) 20:18, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
You can do whatever you want, your user pages are your space! Might be helpful but anything goes. As you can see from my sandbox, all pages with a slash in their name link back to the page they’re named after by default anyway. You could even name it something entirely different! Also, remember to indent your replies with colons like I’m doing, OK? GloverMist (talk) 20:38, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

So, I would like to become a patroller, because I look at recent changes extremely frequently, and might as well do something useful there, like patrol edits and stuff like that. (That was a long sentence.) having the rollback tool would have been useful on, say, Inkling. But I also do not want to nominate myself and then get unanimously downvoted. So, I am just going to ask your opinion, if I ran for patroller, do you think I would lose? And please tell me why. £|_@|\/|1232S2 Weapon Main Hero Roller Lv. 2.png(Talk) 13:10, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

The word “inkling” isn’t a proper noun.— InklingPRO Error (pro talk) 01:58, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

This has been discussed elsewhere, but just for the avoidance of doubt, I'd like to point you to this official site for Splatoon and this official site for Splatoon 2, both of which capitalise Inkling, as is correct in the context of the game. It goes without saying that in-game text capitalises it as well. This is really not a point of contention, sorry, there is only one correct answer here. GloverMist (talk) 10:13, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
