Image guidelines

You've been ignoring the image guidelines for multiple times; uploading a fan-made map of the new stage twice. Please do not add material that is fan-made and copyrighted by its creator and is not guaranteed to be used anywhere else without their authentication. Warning Icon.png Warning

This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior. Please follow the rules or you will be blocked. Thank you. Shahar (talk) 23:10, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ah, I apologize for my actions. I will stop this behavior and follow Wiki guidelines. HalfSanitized (talk) 23:26, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's all good. Just watch out for any work that is watermarked or licensed under a different name. Unless you've got permission to use it. Shahar (talk) 23:31, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sure! I'm a little new to the wiki so I get confused from time to time about what I shouldn't do. HalfSanitized (talk) 12:45 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Italics for games

Games like Splatoon 3 should be italicized, according to our Manual of Style, but I noticed that you did not use italics for it. You can use the I button in the toolbar to italicize selected text. Let me know if you need any help. Heddy (talk) 02:54, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Categorizing

Hello, if you upload manga covers often then please get in the habit of adding a category. The Splatoon manga covers should have . It's not a big deal, if you forget, someone else will eventually take care of it. You can see that I added it to File:SplatManga13CoverEN.jpg. Once a category is added, you should of course delete from the page because that is no longer needed. Thanks for helping the wiki, and let me know if you have any questions on the image uploading guidelines! Heddy (talk) 07:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh, sure, I can do that! I tried it, but after I saved it on one image, it still said uncategorized, so I didn't do it with any of the others. But I'll be sure to add a category from now on. Thanks! HalfSanitized (talk) 12:43, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Huge images

Hi HalfSanitized, I've noticed you've been making S3 Infoboxes for weapons, which us great, but just to let you know that the images are way too big. If you can, could you shrink the images so that they fit inside the infobox? Thanks OrderSquid38 (talk) 21:26, 15 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh, of course! I totally forgot that they should have been smaller…I'll get it fixed! Thanks for letting me know! :) HalfSanitized (talk) 21:28, 15 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Your Splatfest collages

Hey HalfSanitized, unfortunately the Deep Cut solo collage images (here and here) you've recently uploaded are in an unusual format that's not ideal. The rounded edges of these crops and the vertical stacking of individual photos makes these difficult to read at a glance within a gallery section, which is the goal with these Splatfest color comparison images. Additionally, they're .jpgs, which means additional compression was applied when exporting your collages; ideally these edits should be .pngs. Sadly these images need to be replaced with better versions soon.

Check out this similar edit I made of Callie's photos to get an idea of what format your collages should be in. I'd be happy to explain my process if you'd like to work on remaking your images. Alternatively, I could handle remaking them to be up to standard. Yoshifan52 (talk) 03:51, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ah, I see. I just used the photo editor on my phone, and I was wondering why the edges were rounded. If that doesn't work out I'd be happy to redo them as a png and more similar to yours, don't worry! Thank you for letting me know! Also, out of curiosity, how do you create the collages so cleanly? HalfSanitized (talk) 13:07, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I used this open source (free) editing program (pardon its questionable name) on a desktop PC to make my collages. The gist of my process is I gather all the images I want to make a collage of on a single canvas as individual layers, align all of them one atop the other as best as I can, then crop them and lay them out side by side pixel-perfect. If you would like step by step instructions for how I do this I'll gladly type some up.
I assume that process can be followed more or less the same on other programs as well, but very limited programs such as MSPaint or collage apps for phones aren't going to produce high enough quality images. If you're limited to using a phone, I can look into if there are any decent programs available, but I generally must strongly recommend using a laptop or desktop PC for this. Yoshifan52 (talk) 03:10, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok, sounds good. I should be able to use this on a desktop, so I'll have to get to it later today or tomorrow. In the meantime, should I remove the current collages from the pages? HalfSanitized (talk) 14:09, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Good point, your previous collages should be removed. I'll can handle it for now, no worries! Yoshifan52 (talk) 21:18, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh, thanks for doing that! I'll make updated versions soon. HalfSanitized (talk) 15:27, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

May Splatfest Squid Sisters images

Hey HalfSanitized, I'm dropping by to let you know I've consolidated your Nessie vs. Aliens vs. Bigfoot Squid Sisters uploads (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) into just two images (1, 2) for organization's sake. I've marked your uploads for deletion so that they may be fully replaced by the collage versions. Yoshifan52 (talk) 05:53, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh, okay! That's totally fine. Thank you for the heads up! HalfSanitized (talk) 00:43, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File naming conventions

Hello, your uploads are appreciated, however I must suggest you add spaces between words in your files' names as they will inevitably need to be renamed otherwise. Thank you! Anemoia Anemoia Sig.png [Talk!] 21:08, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh ok! Sounds good. I'm used to naming files with no spaces, so I've just been doing it for a while; it's kind of a habit. I'll make sure I use spaces next time! :) HalfSanitized (talk) 21:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
MediaWiki can handle file names with spaces and some punctuations (e.g. parentheses) without issues, so please don't hesitate to keep them in file names. It also helps with searching, because when you otherwise name files in PascalCase without spaces, the search function is unable to match substrings in the filename. Harimaron (talk) 21:13, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ah, I see. That makes sense. HalfSanitized (talk) 21:15, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
