A reminder of the above. Any image depicting Nintendo's intellectual property needs to be tagged with the fair use template, please do not change this. Heddy (talk) 23:59, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My files and copyright
Latest comment: 5 August 20193 comments2 people in discussion
My files are in the public domain and can be used for any means without any permission whatsoever unless such permission is required in that country by law. InklingFixer (talk) 22:32, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There is already a public domain template found at [[Template:PD]]. I added it to your images, and I'll be deleting Template:Publicdomain. 23:30, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hey There! Admins changing licensing on my files😡😡😡😡😡 I am so mad!
Latest comment: 5 August 20191 comment1 person in discussion
I shouldn't be blocked right now! Those are user files of mine in the public domain and an admin just changed licensing on them for literally no reason and blocked me! Those are my files and I can chose if they are copyrighted or not! Please unblock me now! --InklingFixer (talk) 04:02, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Admin Request
Latest comment: 6 August 20198 comments4 people in discussion
From what I understand, you've vandalized files on multiple instances and have a very, very loose grasp of copyright laws. Just because you uploaded the files, that doesn't mean they are in the public domain! If they are screenshots from a Nintendo video game, then they are treated by this wiki as fair use. ShinyCelesteela (talk) 11:00, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No, that's not how that works. If the file contains anything Nintendo related, for example, if it's a screenshot of something in the Splatoon franchise, that makes it copyrighted. Since Nintendo copyrighted its games, that automatically makes the file copyrighted. You can't just "release them into the public domain" like that. --SundaeSquidTalk00:54, 6 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
^^^ No offense, but I agree with ShinyCelesteela. The staff had warned you several times about your file vandalism and public domain templates, but you ignored them anyway (which is why you are blocked). Also, you are still a fairly new user on here. It isn't that easy to just become an admin the moment you join. And this is kind of off-topic but you got mad at Heddy for editing your user page, but that was because a file on that page was deleted since it was a duplicate of an already existing file. He's an admin. He can do that. --SundaeSquidTalk12:55, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please unblock me now! I shouldn't be blocked! Those are my images and I decided they are in the public domain and you can't change that! So it's the admins that are vandalizing! --InklingFixer (talk) 16:15, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You basically blocked me for uploading files into the public domain which is allowed.
Fatal anti-copyright error
Could not read above message carefully, this person does not like copyright. Person uploads all files into public domain. Now waiting for block expiration. --InklingFixer (talk) 17:01, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That isn't. How. Copyright. Works. Yes, you uploaded the images, but as pretty much everyone else has pointed out, they are images of Nintendo's intellectual property. If you don't like copyright, then that's fine, but merely disliking the law doesn't change it. If you upload a screenshot from the Splatoon video game, then it is fair-use. It doesn't matter who uploaded them. ShinyCelesteela (talk) 20:02, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You dont have to be an admin to know how basic copyright laws work. According to your logic, you're not an admin so you wouldn't know either. If you're just going to keep on arguing and ignoring all of our messages, then fine. You do you. --SundaeSquidTalk07:39, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I didn't want to get into this conversation when the answer has already been given by others several times, but here we are. Our file upload page explicitly states, and I quote, "Please provide licensing information for the upload from the dropdown menu. If it is a screenshot from Splatoon, the correct choice is Fair Use." The Fair Use box, when selected, states "This file is copyrighted. It will be used in a way that qualifies as fair use under US copyright law."
This is how the law works around screenshots from an existing property, and neither you nor I can change this just because you want to. This is a non-topic by now and I believe it does not justify any further arguments. Thank you. GloverMist (talk) 08:48, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, this wiki, as far as I can tell, is following the US laws, but doing a little bit of research, even under Canadian copyright laws, images from the Splatoon series and other Nintendo video games would not be considered public domain, as they are copyrighted by Nintendo, and it hasn't been 50 years since publication or the death of the creator. ShinyCelesteela (talk) 23:17, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's exactly it. To be fair, I live in the UK, but things don't change - you still have to follow how this wiki operates. That's just how it works, sorry. Also, could you add an extra colon at the start of each response, like mine, so it's clear which message you're responding to? Thanks. GloverMist (talk) 11:03, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Because from what I understand, those error messages on your user page aren't screenshots from a copyrighted Nintendo game like your other files were. In fact, I don't even know where those error messages were taken from, so I honestly don't know if they're copyrighted or not. --SundaeSquidTalk01:00, 6 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The error messages are my own work so they are not copyrighted. When I am unblocked I'll delete the Inklings section from my user page because I want all my files in the public domain. --InklingFixer (talk) 22:33, 6 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A'ight so two things:
It's spelled "E-liter 4K" in-game. It doesn't matter if it's a misspelling, if that's the name of the weapon, it's the name of the weapon.
But it's not even a misspelling! In the United States, the "liter" spelling, with the r after the e, is generally more commonly used, and Splatoon 2 simply follows suit.

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know that your beliefs over the creation and licensing of the Splatoon manga are, unfortunately, incorrect and your insistence on implementing this is currently having a detrimental effect on the wiki. The manga is produced by a third party with explicit permission and official licensing from Nintendo - they're the same company who has published several Nintendo-related manga and books in the past. Indeed, even local Nintendo accounts have covered it, as seen here, for example. Additionally, as I stated on my talk page, there are no errors in the reading orientation of the manga, especially in the native Japanese-language version.
In short, if a member of staff such as me reverts one of your edits for reasons such as these, please don't change it back without bringing it up in talk first. It just helps prevent potential edit wars. I hope you bear these facts in mind for the future! GloverMist (talk)22:43, 5 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You don't get it, the video you listed shows Nintendo getting brainwashed by the manga thinking it's a wonderful thing when in reality, it violates Nintendo's trademarks. Oh, and the CoroCoro gear in the first Splatoon game was created to violate CoroCoro's trademarks because Nintendo's trademarks got violated by CoroCoro. --InklingFixer (talk) 01:13, 6 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The unofficialSplatoonmanga that's been serialized in Japan's Corocoro Comic magazine since 2015 is getting an official English-language release later this year, publisher Viz Media confirmed today. The all-ages comic based on the original Wii U game focuses on four Inklings caught up in the Splatoon Turf War.
That's... not what the source says though. In fact, it explicitly says the opposite - that the manga is official. Not that there was ever any question about it anyway. Please stop trying to argue this now. GloverMist (talk)18:22, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
For some reason, GuyPerfect blocked me for the following reason:
“
Destructive behavior, spreading of misinformation, ignores warnings and reprimands, general nuisance
”
— Block message when I try to edit Inkipedia
But I wasn't doing any of the things mentioned above, and the block was unexpected because GuyPerfect didn't leave a message on my talk page about the block. Plus, I've made huge contributions to lobby.
If I see the date of the discution, InklingFixer was being Destructive in 2019, if Im correct, he is currently blocked and his editions was reverted, so, InklingFixer cant do anything, so this discution was finished along time ago, so I think its resolved now :) --Splatoon635
