Suggestion about animation quality
Hi!
I've seen your great job recently on adding images and animations of Pearl and Marina, and I have a suggestion:
GIF format is paletted, and very old - so it only supports up to 256 colors. While the colors can change from frame to frame, which makes smarter image editing software able to make it better, it's still a very low limitation. There are three other formats you might want to look into:
- webm - very well-compressed and lossless (IIRC) format that is supported by MediaWiki
- mp4 - even better-compressed but lossy. Also supported by MediaWiki
- gifv - supposed to be a replacement for the gif format. It's actually a container format that internally holds... a webm or an mp4 =P. Semantically, though, browsers are supposed to handle it like a gif (looping the animation, not showing video controls, playing by default, etc. ) - so it should be better. Not sure if Mediawiki supports it though.
There should be free online converters (or freeware applications) from any video format into those three.
Just a thought, hope it's helpful. -Inkrid (talk) 12:00, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
That's for the advice! Sorry about the low quality gifs, some of them were too big to upload so I went on ezgif.com to optimize them into a smaller size. The cost of it was some noise in the gif. I'll try to use an alternative file name next time.--InuSaki (talk) 22:31, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Where did you get that image? If you tell me where, I might be able to extract the image directly from the website, so there aren't those ink drips at the bottom. Heddy (talk) 23:46, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
