You Got Them! (Salmon Run)[1] (appended as You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1 in Splatoon 3) is a jingle performed by Grizzco Industries.

Description

You Got Them! (Salmon Run) consists of an organ-like instrument playing a rapid series of notes while a distorted version of Mr. Grizz's laugh plays in the background. Afterwards, an intense horn sounds to end the jingle.

Other versions

Several new variants are found in Splatoon 3.

You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 2

After a Known Occurrence during which Frothy Waters was playing, namely Goldie Seeking, The Mothership, Mudmouth Eruptions, and Giant Tornadoes, You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 2 plays instead of You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1. This jingle consists of a brass note that is held for multiple seconds, before playing an irregular drumbeat reminiscent of ω-3's songs.

You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 3 - Go Off, King!

After the last regular wave in a shift, if the next wave will be an Xtrawave, You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1 is replaced by You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 3 - Go Off, King!. This jingle starts off almost identical to You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1, but the first part slowly becomes more distorted. The horn sound at the end also cuts in and out and rapidly gets shifted in pitch.

You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 4 - Bye, King

After an Xtrawave has been completed, You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 4 - Bye, King plays. This jingle begins with a brass note similar to the one from You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 2 playing over a section reminiscent of the beginning of You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1. The organ-like instrument speeds up before cutting out, after which an irregular drumbeat reminiscent of ω-3's songs plays. Afterwards, one last brass note plays as the drums close out the jingle.

Trivia

  • You Got Them! (Salmon Run) is named differently between Splatune 2 and Splatune 3. In Splatune 2 it is called "サーモンラン 成功ジングル", while it is called "サーモンラン 成功ジングル その1" in Splatune 3, adding "その1" (No. 1) to the end. This was likely done to differentiate You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 1 from the new jingles that were added in Splatoon 3. A similar change can be seen in the track's presence in the Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 sections of Nintendo Music, where "1" is appended only for the Splatoon 3 version.

Etymology

You Got Them! might refer to the players beating the Salmonids. This is also in contrast with They Got You! from They Got You! (Salmon Run), which plays when a team loses during a shift. Go Off, King! in You Got Them! (Salmon Run) 3 - Go Off, King! might reference the identical slang phrase, which is generally used as a phrase of encouragement, while also referring to the King Salmonid that will appear in the upcoming Xtrawave.
