== Octoling names in Spanish (Europe) ==
The term "Octoling" has never been present in European Spanish (it is only used in Latinamerican Spanish). In European Spanish, Octolings are simply called "octarianos" ("Octarians"; yes, they did no distinction from the enemies name wise, and you have to rely on context to know if the game is referring to the playable or the enemy ones).
One exception is the humanoid-like present since the first game, as they're called "octoamazonas", but that is well labeled in its article. [[User:Timeman|Timeman]] ([[User talk:Timeman|talk]]) 13:40, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

I've noticed a few more differences

I've noticed a few more differences on playable Octolings than depicted in this wiki page. I have seen that the left ear on an Octoling is indented. I have also seen that the sharper teeth in an Octoling's mouth are: one on the top row on the left side and one on the right side of the bottom row. Playable Octolings also have open ovals at the ends of their tentacles in octopus and humanoid form. (I'm new to this site so I'm sorry if this is formated oddly. Also I would update the page myself but I'm too afraid.)(Like this? I'm sorry, I am fairly new to sites like this...)--Frost (talk) 15:17, 29 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There could be added an "appearance" section to the page, like the Inkling and other Octoling page, detailing the information you stated. (Also remember to sign your comment with ~~~~ at the end) --Hinamin (talk) 23:41, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New information in s3 trailer

I noticed in the trailer for splatoon 3 an octoling girl, but the jaw ridges are the same as an inkling, with two on top. Should this be added? Here's the screenshot.

Caption missing

I noticed a caption for the octoling ghost isn't there, should I add it in? I would do it on my own, but I wasn't sure if that was an overlooked thing or if it is supposed to be like that. --Dynamo (talk) 18:10, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Considering that the ghost image on the Inkling article has a caption, I assume it was an oversight. I have added a caption for the Octoling ghost based on the caption used for the Inkling ghost. 18:30, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Marina and Shiver

Should Marina and Shiver be covered by this article? They are included in the Appearance section even though they are not playable.  GX_64 (talk)  05:04, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think that there should be an article for all Octolings, but there is already a page for disambiguation. Could a paragraph be added to it that is not specifically about enemy or playable Octolings?  GX_64 (talk)  05:14, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I noticed that too when editing the page. If anything, I think the page should be moved from Octoling (playable) to just Octoling or Octoling (species) Spleet (talk) 11:25, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
From now on, this page is about Octolings in general.   Perfectionist   (talk) 22:04, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
