Launchpads are a mechanic in Splatoon's Octo Valley.
Description
Launchpads appear as flat circles of swirling ink on horizontal and vertical surfaces, and launch Agent 3 from one platform to another, similar to Super Jumping. This can be done by pressing on the Wii U GamePad. Launchpads are the most common form of transportation between platforms, followed by Inkrails. While Inkrails require manual traversal on the player's part, launchpads are automatic and must only be activated to use.
Appearances
Launchpads appear in every Octo Valley mission, including boss battles.
Trivia
- Using a launchpad displays the same animation as Super Jumping.
