Template:Images Ride rail, also known as ride-rail, are a mechanic found only in Octo Canyon in Splatoon 2. The ride rail is a rail in the air that the player hops onto and rides along to another area.

Description

Ride rails appear to be ropes of ink-covered metal spirals containing ink inside that connect to platforms or are suspended mid-air. It can be activated by the player's ink hitting a slightly larger bulb that is similarly looking to the inkrails bulb but with propellers at the end. Agent 4 can hop from a rail to another or a platform by pressing B to jump while tilting the Left Stick towards the direction wanted in humanoid or squid form. When using the ride-rails, it is also possible to fall off if the player does not time jumps correctly and misses the place intended to land. Agent 4 can stand on ride rails, swim and use weapons while riding in contrast to inkrails, which only allows the player to travel along in squid form but allows Agent 4 to travel back and forth. It can be used to perform tricks in reference to real-world grind rails that are used to preform skateboard tricks.
