Removing the text around photo

Thank you soooo much for that! I am (as you can probably tell) very new to wikicode and uploading images to the wiki, so that was very much appreciated. Jacobearth (talk) 21:27, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re-categorization of unused images

Hey Lapsem, how come you swapped the categories for these two unused Tableturf Battle card icons? The category that you linked instead does not have a page. I highly disagree with the route proposed here; I don't think we should have a separate catch-all category for all unused icons/sprites, as they're both limited in quantity and encompass a variety of different types of icons/sprites. For example, Splatoon 3 has both unused Tableturf Battle card icons, and unused special weapon icons; there aren't enough of either of these types of icons to justify creating sub-categories under the "unused sprites" category, but at the same time it seems messy to lump them together. Categorizing these icons according to what their used equivalents are categorized as is a more cohesive organization scheme, in my eyes. What do you think? MediaWiki has a feature called "magic words" that serve a few different functions, and one of them is "PAGESINCATEGORY". Running PAGESINCATEGORY:(category name) between two pairs of curly brackets returns the number of all files and pages in that category, which is handy for keeping track of an ever-changing list. I used this in the List of Tableturf Battle cards in Splatoon 3 page to list how many cards there are in the card-image category without needing to keep checking the total card count.
Including the two unused images inflates that image-count to display as two more cards than there really are. There's no way to perform arithmetic with the PAGESINCATEGORY numbers and they're not even being used as card icons anyway, so I moved them out of the normal Tableturf card-image category and into a Splatoon 3 unused sprites category. There were also such pages for Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 1, so I figured I would create a new category for both those two images, since there's nowhere else for them to be filed, and for any other unused material that could crop up in the future.
