Copy/Move data management at Settings of Wii U.

Save Scumming is a term used by the community, to go to an older save data if you're not happy with the results of your gear Abilities and Rank.

The Wii U console allows you to copy or move data from your system memory to USB data so you can have backup data. Save Scumming requires copying your data to USB drive and the USB drive or the System memory will be your backup data to go back to. There are many methods of Save Scumming to get different results.

Re-rolls at Spyke

Description

Re-rolling slots of gear at Spyke.

Method

1. Save your Splatoon data to your USB drive.
   • (If you decide to leave your USB plugged-in you'll start Splatoon at your USB drive data so the system memory will be your backup data. If you decide not to plug your USB drive in, your USB drive will be your backup data)
2. Go to Spyke and re-roll slots on gear that you'd want good abilities on.
   • Once you got the desired abilities save your data to your backup data so you can keep that gear with the abilities.
   • If you lose lots of cash or get bad re-rolls just go to your backup data and copy it to your other data.

Description

In order to understand this method you're going to need to see the odds of getting the amount of slots on your ordered gear.

You play multiplayer and see a player you would want their gear. You exit the lobby and go to Inkopolis, you find the Inkling and order their gear by talking to them and pressing to order the gear. In order to get their gear from Spyke, you'll need to wait for the next day to see the gear you ordered. You save your data to a backup file at the day you get the ordered gear before talking to Spyke. Once you save you unplug your USB drive and see in your Splatoon data at system memory if you got the desired abilities on your slots. If not, you copy your backup file from your USB drive to your system memory and wait for the next day, this will allow you to get different abilities on your slots the next day cause you didn't talk to spyke and you'll get different amount of slots the next day. If you get 3 sub abilities of the same ability, you can buy it in the price of Template:Cash.

Method

Open Splatoon at the day you receive the ordered gear. See the game saves and exit it. Save your Splatoon data to your USB drive and unplug the USB drive when the Wii U console is turned off.

Check how many sub abilities you got on your ordered gear at Spyke. If you get 3 sub abilities, buy it. If you get 2 sub abilities, play and unlock the 3rd slot. If it's the ability you wanted - keep it. If not, go to an older save data and try to unlock the slot again. If you get 0 or 1 sub ability, go to older save and wait for the next day and repeat.

Description

This method is not recommended to players because it will not reflect your skill at the rank you're in. This method allows you to rank-up or not to de-rank if you lose lots of points. Basically you go to an older save data if you lose games or de-rank. or go to an older save data if you try to rank up and want to get more points than lose points.

Method

1. Save your Splatoon data to your USB drive.
2. Play rank battles.
3. If you de-rank or lose lots of points, copy your backup data to your other data.
4. Once you're happy with your rank copy your data to your backup data to save your progress.
