A female Inkling standing on glass in Urchin Underpass, which makes heavy use of the glass terrain.

Glass is a semi-common, non-Inkable terrain feature in Splatoon.

Description

Glass is a clear surface that is Ink resistant, meaning it is unable to be covered in Ink. Since an Inkling cannot swim in it, they will not get a speed boost in squid form. However, running on glass remains the same as running on uncovered turf.

Use

Glass can be found on the walls and floors of several maps and places in the game. Urchin Underpass has both platforms and walls made out of glass in the side alleys, but apart from that, Glass is usually only used in other stages for walls, such as Arowana Mall and Port Mackerel.

Glass also appears during the final stage of Boss 3 of Octo Valley, The Rampaging Octowhirl!, where some terrain is destroyed, revealing Glass. This makes the battle trickier. It is also used in Propeller Lift Fortress.
