C.Q. Cumber's Quotes

It's important that you learn to get the most out of your Inkjet.
One move you'll want to master is pressing B to make the Inkjet float a bit.
You can press ZL to submerge in Inkrails, even when using the Inkjet.
If you want to shoot from an Inkrail, just press ZR.
Be sure to submerge back into the Inkrail after you shoot, though, or you'll fall.

Cap'n Cuttlefish's Quotes

Submerge with ZL. Got it?
After you shoot, press ZR right away to submerge!
Submerge in the Inkrails, then shoot! That's the ticket.

Translation notes

  1. A pun on "Kurozu daietto" (black vinegar diet). It was very popular in 1990s Japan.
  2. Comes from "het is een kunst", a Dutch saying meaning "it is not easy".
  3. Comes from "'m van jetje geven", a Dutch saying for "to do your best / to go strong / to beat someone up severely". While "jetje" here has an unknown meaning, it is the diminutive form of "jet", making it be a pun on "inktjet" (Inkjet).
  4. Comes from "Bad" (bath), "Tinte" (ink) and "-heim", a suffix found in certain German city and district names.
  5. This, along with the station name, is a reference to a 1990s Russian commercial of a financial pyramid, of which slogan was "We're not freeloaders, we're partners!".
