Ink Resistance Up
Template:Infobox ability Ink Resistance Up is an Ability that can be found on Gear in Splatoon. It affects the movement of an Inkling in the opponents Ink by allowing more maneuverability and speed while walking or swimming through it. This Ability is restricted to shoes as a main ability.
Use
Ink Resistance Up will be active throughout the entire match, and is used any time the player steps on or swims through enemy ink.
Ink Resistance Up allows quicker movement when in enemy ink. This is especially helpful for the Inkbrush and Octobrush, to move quickly even when turning sharply. Weapons that let the player strafe fast like the N-ZAP and Mini Splatling also benefit from Ink Resistance Up, as small patches of enemy ink will not slow down movement as much.
The ability also reduces the damage taken from stepping in or swimming through enemy ink. Normally, touching enemy ink will accumulate up to 50 damage at a rate of 16.67 damage per second. But with Ink Resistance Up, only 25 damage can accumulate, and at a rate of 8.33 damage per second.
It cannot be rolled as an ability for extra slots on gear.

Mutual exclusivity
Since this ability is found as the main ability only on shoes, other abilities found only on shoes are mutually exclusive with it; in other words you cannot have them together. These abilities are Bomb Sniffer, and Stealth Jump.
