We've learned that a number of different fashion brands compete for the hearts and wallets of Inkopolis's youth. Zekko brand streetwear is but one of those brands. Zekko's clothes are known for a rough-around-the-edges look that's popular with the skate-punk crowd. A lot of up-and-coming Turf War players wear this brand into battle!

Breaking news from the Squid Research Lab! Following the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, we learned that distribution of additional updates for Splatoon will be continued for a little longer. We hope you're looking forward to these updates from now through this summer. The first update arrives next week, on March 8th!

The first update will include the adjustment of some Gear Abilities, as well as additional Splatfest elements. For full deets, check out the support page!

The second update will arrive in two phases and will add Sheldon's Picks - weapon combo recommendations from the horseshoe crab himself!

Each set contains new weapon combos which Sheldon carefully selected and modified based off of existing weapons, such as the "Wasabi Splattershot" and "Fresh Squiffer." Will you discover new strats with the new combos?

PSA : To prepare for the Splatoon Version 2.6.0 update, please be aware of server maintenance that will take place during the following times:

Tuesday, March 8th : 4:50 PM – 6:30 PM PT

While waiting for the update, feel free to take a peek at the detailed update notes here that our overachieving intern, Milton, scribbled up for your consideration. One point of clarification: Milton was so excited for the update that he mistakenly mentioned that the update would adjust the layout in Arowana Mall Turf War battles to the layout used in Splat Zones. What he meant to say was that the Arowana Mall Turf War layout will be similar to the layout in Splat Zones, but the grates that connect between the high platforms in each team's area in the central area will be removed.

We are grateful for your understanding and have promised you that Milton has learned to doublecheck his work.

(Thanks in advance for not questioning that the old-fashioned way is less than a year old.)

One of our interns has learned that starting with this Splatfest, you may notice some small improvements and differences!

During Splatfest, what was previously the Vibe Meter will now display your Splatfest Power. Your initial Splatfest Power level depends upon your current Ranked Battle rank, and your Splatfest Power level will change depending on wins or losses during Splatfest Battles.

The player with the highest Splatfest Power on the winning team will receive a slightly larger boost to their Splatfest Power than their teammates after the match.

Also – until now, Splatfest matchmaking favored grouping players with similar play styles. Players will now be more likely to play with those of similar Splatfest Power level. The higher a team's average Splatfest Power level, the more Splatfest Points they will earn after winning.

♫ Do you want to build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman – it could be a sandcastle! The snow-sand grudge match Splatfest starts tonight at 9 PM PT, and alongside it, we're introducing the Splatfest Top 100!

What is the Splatfest Top 100? Starting from Splatfest this weekend, the top 100 players in each team will be praised as the "Splatfest Top 100". Technically, 200 players will earn the honor – since the top 100 from each side will be tallied, but who's counting, right? Rankings will be based on players' Splatfest Power earned throughout the duration of Splatfest.

How can you tell who makes the Top 100? There will be an update on the SplatNet stat-tracking site, where you will be able to see your Splatfest Power ranking.

If you're in the Top 100, you'll see a sweet trophy icon next to your name. You won't be seeing our intern Milton's name here, that's for sure! (That's because he's on spring break, not because he's still sporting a spectacular C- in Ranked Battle.)

After Splatfest is over, you can tweet the image just like other rankings.

In addition, after Splatfest has concluded, we'll have our Squid Research Lab interns post a report here at the Squid Research Lab that lists all Top 100 players from each team. We hope to see your name in the Top 100!
