Octostamps are Octarian enemies in Hero Mode.
Description
Octostamps appear similar to cube-shaped stamps. They have a large face covered in purple ink and two small legs. Because of the size of their legs, Octostamps seem to waddle around and cannot chase players quickly. Despite this slow speed, they are able to leap in the air when close to an Inkling, landing face-first. If an Octostamp lands on an Inkling, the Inkling will be splatted and respawn. When Octostamps jump, a small pool of ink appears around the area in which they land, slowing down Inklings even if they are not directly hit by the enemy's landing.
Strategy
In order to defeat Octostamps, players must wait until they jump and avoid their potentially damaging fall. After landing, Octostamps expose their vulnerable backside, which can be sprayed with players' ink. Players that get directly hit by an Octostamp get splatted instantly.
Trivia
- Octostamps are smaller versions of the first boss in Hero Mode, The Mighty Octostomp!
