Spyke

Spyke (Japanese: ダウニー daunii) is a character found in Inkopolis Plaza. 

Description

He can increase the spots allotted to gear in exchange for a Super Sea Snail. Alternatively, if players do not want more spots but wish to reset the abilities a piece of gear currently has, then he'll re-roll their gear for them. If a player ordered gear from the plaza, you can also pick it up from Spyke. Players who lack a Super Sea Snail can pay 30,000 coins for one of Spykes own snails.

Trivia

• Spyke's design is based on the phrase "Street Urchin", which refers to homeless children who make their living on the streets of large cities. Spyke himself is a literal street urchin, being a sea urchin who makes his living working in the back alleys of Inkopolis.
• The Super Sea Snails that Spyke gets slightly resemble a rock mushroom from the Super Mario Galaxy franchise.
• Spyke was announced durring the special Splatoon Nintendo Direct on May 7th.
