Admin rights

Hey Prod. Seeing that you're the site's only Bureaucrat, I figured I could ask you about getting admin rights on this wiki. I've found myself running into situations many times where admin rights would be useful (e.g. updating missing MediaWiki pages, deleting files and unneeded redirects, improving protected templates, etc.). CheckUser

What is the use case you were looking for? For privacy reasons, we discussed that admins shouldn't get CheckUser as IPs are considered private information. Checkuser is supposed to help find sockpuppets, but you have to identify them by behaviour first. -- Prod (talk) 05:53, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

I checked the IPs of the last few blocked accounts, and beyond some regional consistency, there's nothing really connecting them to each other. Either someone has broken the captcha, or they're having people solve it. -- Prod (talk) 16:07, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
