The Wii Remote is the main controller for the Nintendo Wii, that can also be used for the Wii U. It has an extremely small usage in Splatoon's Battle Dojo.

Description

The Wii Remote is a controller that heavily utilizes motion controls. It is rectangular and has many familiar buttons such as Plus and Minus. Certain Wii U games can only use the Wii Remote for multiplayer. There is also the alternative Wii Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro for more traditional gaming, which can be used by plugging them into a Wii Remote. An accessory called Wii MotionPlus was released, allowing more complex motion controls. A later model of the Wii Remote, called the Wii Remote Plus, had MotionPlus built-in.

Battle Dojo

Wii U Pro Controller + Wii Remote Plus combo.

The player must plug a Wii Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro into a Wii Remote to use them as a controller for Battle Dojo.

As an Easter egg, matches can also be played with a combination of the Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro and a Wii Remote Plus or Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus, which was hinted at in Sunken Scroll 26. This allows the player using the controller to have motion controls. To perform this, the player must hold down on the D-Pad, hold down B, and press ZL and ZR as described on the Splatoon Tumblr, Squid Research Lab.

Features

  • Motion controls: By tilting the Wii Remote up, down, left, and right, players can change their Inkling's view and aim.
