Merging with Turf War article

Isn't Regular Battle synonymous with Turf War battles? Why do we have two separate articles for them? The description for "Regular Battle" exclusively names Turf War battles; unlike the Ranked/Anarchy Battle mode option, only one mode corresponds to "Regular Battle". I think the reason they are separate is because Turf Wars also happen during Splatfests, so some of the information on this page is not for all Turf Wars. The Splatfest music should probably be removed from this page  GX_64 (talk)  00:43, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Under that lens, standard Turf War and Splatfest Turf War should be regarded as two separate modes. "Splatfest Battle" redirects to the Splatfest article rather than to Turf War. If we want to be completely clear on standard Turf War being separate from Splatfest Turf War, we need a "Splatfest Battle" page equivalent to the Regular Battle page as well as a separate "Turf War (Splatfest)" mode page; In my eyes, it's simpler to make the "Splatfest Battle" page and the "Turf War (Splatfest)" pages be one and the same, since there is no other type of Splatfest Battle. Similarly, there is no other type of Regular Battle. Yoshifan52 (talk) 00:55, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am concerned that then there will be two pages both with information about Turf War. What if we just have a Turf War page, and include sections for Regular Battle and Splatfest battle? (I think this is similar to what you suggested originally. I got confused and thought you meant putting everything from Turf War here)  GX_64 (talk)  01:09, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The Splatfest version of Turf War is a separate mode in-games though; it has significant game mechanic differences outside of the battles (ie. gear, availability, exp system, prizes) to warrant separating it from the standard Turf War page in my opinion.
To put it plainly, here are the options I'm suggesting (page titles bolded for clarity):
1: Merge Regular Battle with Turf War, turn the Splatfest Battle redirect page into a new Turf War (Splatfest) page (my preference)
2: Keep the Regular Battle and Turf War articles separate, but clean up the current Splatfest Battle redirect page to match the current Regular Battle article. That leaves us with the hypothetical Turf War (Splatfest) page, for which there are two options:
2a: Note the Turf War (Splatfest) mode in a subsection of the Turf War article
2b: Create Turf War (Splatfest) as a separate page from Turf War
Hopefully this isn't too confusing, apologies. Yoshifan52 (talk) 03:07, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would like to point out that though there's a slight issue in all of these plans, because "Turf War (Splatfest)" is already noted on the Turf War page, as in the mode in Splatoon 2 that's exclusive to private battles. I would argue it's a slightly different thing than the actual battles that occur during a real Splatfest, since it's a private mode meant for recreating the visuals of Splatfest and giving access to the Shifty Stations, so you'd have to make sure any information about actual Splatfest battles couldn't be easily confused with the private battle mode.
