Adjust Gear
In Splatoon 3, as of Version 5.0.0, certain pieces of gear can slightly change their appearance by selecting the "Adjust Gear" function with the button.
Currently, the two forms of adjustment available involve resizing certain t-shirt-styled clothing items or rotating certain baseball cap-styled headgear items, both denoted by the presence of a circular double-arrow icon on the gear's tag. Adjustment may be performed both from the Equip screen as well as from within shops (thereby allowing the player to demonstrate the adjusted state of gear they do not yet own).
Adjusting Headgear
Currently, adjustable headgear consists exclusively of caps. Adjusting a cap simply flips it backwards, with the exception of the Backward Cap, which can now be worn front-facing. Even adjusted, the Squidvader Cap and Urchins Cap keep their angle. Not all caps are adjustable, most notably the Five-Panel Cap, Jet Cap and Lightweight Cap which share a base model. The reason for this is unknown.
The following headgear items may be adjusted:
- Backward Cap
- Bream-Brim Cap
- Camo Mesh
- Dustcloud Cap
- Jellyvader Cap
- Seafoam Cap
- Squid-Stitch Cap
- Squidvader Cap
- Streetstyle Cap
- Takoroka Mesh
- Two-Stripe Mesh
- Urchins Cap
- Woolly Urchins Classic
- Zekko Mesh
Adjusting Clothing
There is a larger selection of adjustable clothing items than headgear items. A majority of them are basic tees, but a couple include accessories, which is the case for the Squideye Tees, Octo Tee and White V-Neck Tee. Adjusting a tee turns it into an oversized version of itself; in the case of the already oversized Berry BlobMob Tee and Lime BlobMob Tee, adjusting turns them into form-fitting versions.
