Classic Straw Boater

The Classic Straw Boater is headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, it is a 2-star item produced by Skalop and comes with the primary ability Special Duration Up. It can be purchased from Cooler Heads for  1,500.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 2-star item produced by Skalop and comes with the primary ability Special Power Up. It can be purchased from Headspace for  1,500 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  3,000.

Appearance

The Classic Straw Boater is a flat-brimmed, flat-topped straw hat in a very dark gray. Its band changes color to match that of the wearer's ink and has a polka dot pattern in a slightly lighter color. On the left side of the band is a small bow, and on the right is a tiny Skalop logo. When worn by a female the hat is at a slight angle, but on a male it is worn straight.

Abilities

The Classic Straw Boater comes with Special Duration Up as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Classic Straw Boater comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Skalop gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Respawn and a lower chance of rolling Special Saver to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Classic Straw Boater comes with Special Power Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 2-star item, the Classic Straw Boater comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the Skalop gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Respawn and a lower chance of rolling Special Saver to fill its secondary ability slots.
