EchΘ Θnslaught is a song performed by Free Association. It is played during the Parallel Canon boss fight in Side Order.
Description
EchΘ Θnslaught is a fast-paced energetic electronic song, composed of synths, electronic drums, and various short vocal samples. Once the player completes the boss fight, the drums will drop and synths will resolve, and the song will end.
Trivia
- The section beginning roughly 48 seconds bears a melodic similarity to the bridge of Inkoming!; a song often treated as the main theme of Splatoon 2. This could possibly be another way of implying a connection between Parallel Canon and Agent 4
- Out of every boss song in Side Order, Ech0 0nslaught, New World Order and Short Order are the only songs to not contain the Onward! leitmotif. In the case of Ech0 0nslaught, this is most likely because Agent 4 created the Parallel Canon, not Marina.
Etymology
The name of the song correlates to the name of the boss: a canon is a musical term that defines a melody being played, followed with imitations of the same melody, with a delay for each iteration, giving an echoing and overlapping effect. Additionally, the use of Θ (theta) to replace the visually-similar "o"s in the song title may be a reference to it being the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet, tying into the octopus theming of Side Order.
Names in other languages
The name of the song is the same as English in all languages.
